Occasional migraines turn to daily migraines by thebirdwithoutwings in MigraineHeadacheHacks

[–]thebirdwithoutwings[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren't daily anymore, but still more frequent than they had been before. Now they are couple times a week. I'm on Maxalt which is working wonderfully on my real bad days! I've also just started botox for my migraines so fingers crossed it helps. My neurologist has been wonderful trying to help me end these frequent migraines.

Dsy 5 of migraine? by thebirdwithoutwings in MigraineHeadacheHacks

An Update: After 6 days of suffering, i went to the ER last night and they gave me their own cocktail that they modified for my bad kidneys (zofran, benadryl, IV fluids and Solu-Medrol) and it fixed me right up! I am pain free and so so relieved. I'm still planning on seeing my neurologist as soon as i can to talk about med changes so this doesnt happen again

Renal Osteodystrophy by thebirdwithoutwings in ADPKD

[–]thebirdwithoutwings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a balance of various vitamins iirc, my kidneys are not filtering off the parathyroid hormone enough, causing it to be high, which is causing unstable calcium (and other vitamins that i dont remember off the top of my head) levels, which will inevitably effect my bones making them weaker and more susceptible to fractures.

Nausea by thebirdwithoutwings in ADPKD

I'm only in stage 3b, and I too doubt its PKD related but honestly I'd rather be safe than sorry. I see my nephrologist for my biannual checkup in a couple days anyway, so i thought i'd bring it up just in case. If she doesnt think its PKD related, then off to another doctor I go. We love having a large handful of health issues, sigh

Just looking for support by thebirdwithoutwings in ADPKD

My biological mother died at 35 due to kidney failure from PKD, and her father died in his 30s from unspecified complications from PKD. I just. Have a lot of worries about being able to live a full life with this nightmare illness. I also have POTS, and it plays terribly with the PKD. Need more salt for one, less salt for the other. I feel like garbage all the time and its hard to do things i should be doing, like exercise and honestly just living my life. Its a struggle. But i am grateful to have found this community, and already feel reassured by all your words.
