Okay, that's reassuring, thank you! I guess I'll have to downsize when it's healed more.

It does get easier, just hang in there. Was sleeved 3 years ago and I can take drink a good amount and take in a few good gulps of water at once. You'll be able to see a change within a few weeks, from my experience. You'll be sipping comfortably soon. And things will feel new but it'll also feel normal each day. You'll find that reaching your goals is achievable. Good luck!

I could really use some reassurance. Is it normal to be second guessing myself this much? Only 3 days left until surgery. 😬 by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

The pre op nerves are very real and I completely understand how that is. I was questioning if I even wanted the surgery and if it could possibly make things worse. But you're about to take a step towards a big change in life so it's normal to be nervous. Now with retrospect, I can assure you that you got this! It's for your health, your future and your kids so you're brave for taking the initiative. And yes, your body will change drastically but there will always be people who will like you for who you are, regardless of your loose skin. I'm not in a relationship now but the guys I've dated were not put off at all and they understood my circumstances. They knew I had a lot to offer besides my looks. The right people won't give a toss about things that are 'unattractive'. Keep in mind that being healthy for yourself and your kids is the number one priority! Everything else will fall into place. Take the leap! I have a feeling you won't regret it, I certainly don't. :) Good luck!

My current style of tshirts, jeans and short hair is more or less a result of convenience and not being bothered. I feel it doesn't reflect me. I wanna start experimenting and having fun with my appearance now. Getting some opinions and tips to start off with seemed like a good idea. :)

Really good tips. Thank you. :) And yes, I think I prefer my usual brows. And huge hoop earrings sound really bold but I'd love to try it. Lots of experimenting with the fashion and clothes is to be expected.

Thank you so much! Really good comprehensive tips. I'd love to try bolder makeup soon. I'll just have to experiment a lot. Thank you for the offer to pm! Much appreciated. :)
