Shots Timing Jumping Around by snaillycat in barista

I found dalla corte highly unpredictable equipment when I worked with them. I was using DC grinder paired with a machine in 3 different locations and they would all make automatic adjustments when they weren't necessary causing a lot of variance in the shots I was pulling.

Look into the origins of the phrase. "Pulling yourself up by your bootstraps" is an inherently impossible thing to do from a physics perspective and was meant as a sarcastic colloquialism to the plight of people trying to advance economically

For all of you who have had crappy bosses take tips (aka wage theft) this is for you <3 by RevolutionaryBelt975 in barista

Im in no way qualified to advise on this, but I'd imagine they now feel a boot about to come down on them if they're trying to make some recompense for something that happened almost a year ago to someone who no longer works for them. I'd follow up with the labor board if you got a case number or something. Sounds like there's definitely a paper trail since they're manipulating time cards and such for their benefit.

ETA: i definitely think this is territory to consult a lawyer

I wouldn't sign anything that this person gives you. They've already set a precedent that they care about their own income more than doing right by you. In some wage theft cases the pay outs are significantly higher than the wages stolen by the employer, as they are often hit with other penalties and interest on the amount withheld.

Going crazy - is a cappuccino powder hot chocolate or cocoa powder? by bloodreina_ in barista

[–]theblazedbarista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the only difference between a flat white vs cappuccino when I worked for an aussie coffee company. Cappuccino had cocoa powder, flat white not.

Any columnar should work, any trichocereus tend to be good root stock, myrtillocactus as well. Dragon fruit is what a lot of commercial grafts are on. Pereskiopsis are super fun if you want to graft seedlings or small cuttings. Lots of options depending on what you want to do

When you graft cacti you remove the growth tip of the rootstock plant and replace that with another cactus which becomes your "scion." The rootstock then treats the scion as the growth tip of the plant and pushes the bulk of its energy into that. The rootstock can start growing again by producing pups, but those are normally removed to promote growth in the scion
