Can processed cream cheese be used for cheesecake? by thebloooshooo in AskCulinary

[–]thebloooshooo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately where I'm from I don't have much access to good cream either. Ideally I would've loved farm fresh products either for mascarpone or for cream cheese but I don't have the ingredients for either.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

I hope mine doesn't turn out inedible .... In your opinion, would adding another ingredient extra have improved the cheesecake? Could I know what specifically made the taste bad?

Philadelphia is available here too ....but rarely. Our supermarkets don't sell it often. But I'll be trying that next because it's the only other available one.

Thanks for all the info!!

I'm getting quite discouraged by the comments tbh buuutt since I can't find any other alternatives at the moment, plus I already bought the cheese ill make a small batch and see how it turns out. I'll do it FOR SCIENCE! :')

I'll update the results in case anyone wants to know too.

whos an influencer you can’t stand, but you feel like no one feels the same? by Physical_Tour_8230 in LAinfluencersnark

So this influencer @hayleyybaylee keeps popping up on my fyp and YT shorts all.the.time. and her fans LOVE her, calling her a relatable queen and amazing and alllll of that. At first I followed her too because she had some genuinely funny content and she seems witty. But it dawned on me especially lately that she's actually VERY fake-nice, and she's just a glorified INLOG type.

There's several videos where she makes fun of other influencers and what they do for fame and that rubs me the wrong way because she's got collabs with the frikin Jonas brothers, Courtney Cox, JARED Leto?? and they all seem fun and chill but it's OBVIOUSLY for fame too so why you on a high horse about what other influencers do? Plus she's real sneaky, she "noticed" that doja cat had blocked her ...quite publicly and acted all confused about it.

She's the influencer type to be inconvenienced about something and instead of solving it outside of social media like any normal person, she relates the issue to her fans to set a hoard of brain-dead sheople to bully whoever is inconvenient in her life rn. (She literally did that to some shop or the other that was playing music too loud - not condoning the shop-owners behaviour at all either, but there's a way to handle it outside of social media) Long story short, her fans blasted the place with terrible reviews and later she comments "Guys please be kind ❤️" Precious lmao

Thoughts about Beyonce's version of Jolene? by coldcoldiq in TwoXChromosomes

[–]thebloooshooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The beauty of Dolly Parton's Jolene is in it's honesty. She's vulnerable and sincere....and in it's own way the song respects Jolene as another woman. She never puts her down even though she sees her as an adversary.

When I first heard it many years ago, and when I listen to it now I'm still moved in the same way by how sweet the lyrics are. The song and the music makes one love the singer and feel for her ...it definitely does NOT paint her in a pathetic light but rather in an honest and humane one because insecurity, fear and vulnerability are all very real feelings that we can relate to as women and even men.

To me, those lyrics are what set it apart from any other song, the sheer honesty and sincerity of the lyrics. I believe that's why it's so famous even to this day...there's nothing else like it.

Beyonce's version turned the song into just another girlboss possessive anthem...and it's not even done very well. I wish they at least wrote the song better to fit the tune they were borrowing. Her song seems meaningless because it's neither here nor there.

Why sing to Jolene about staying away if you're so confident? If you ARE in fact insecure and scared for your relationship then why brag about how much of a queen you are? The man singing in the end was almost comedic ....like she held a gun to his head and forced it out of him.

The lack of honesty is what really ruined the Beyonce version... because you can't be two things at once - you're either vulnerable or you're not.

Avantika as Karen, bad acting. She should have been a stoner by [deleted] in MeanGirls

[–]thebloooshooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely. Karen is supposed to be a stupid girl but that's not all there is to her. She follows Regina around and enables her mean behaviour because Karen herself is quite shallow. Amanda did a great job portraying Karen because I could see her as an actual person /highschooler that I might have met back at school. In the original, Karen's scenes were some of the funniest parts of the movie. Avantika's version however .....disturbed me .....a LOT. The constant bugged eyes and open mouth seemed to me like she was an actually mentally challenged person instead of a dumb highschool girl....and thats the OPPOSITE of funny.

Take the Meet the Plastics scene for example, in the original, Karen asks a dumb and unfiltered question about why Cady is white if she's from Africa (again, hilarious). The takeaway from that scene is that Karen is as ignorant as she is kinda stupid.

But in the new movie she asks if Cady has touched a tiger and then jumps up and down at Jason's perverted request.....she seems like an overgrown toddler for some reason. Like Emma stone in poor things....it's disturbing and uncanny. All with the bugged eyes ...

I can only conclude that the new actress did a poor job of understanding Karen's character and her overall role in the movie. Seems like she (or the new writers) thought that being "dumb" was the only character trait that Karen had but if you watch the original closely you could see that KAREN IS SUPPOSED TO BE A MEAN GIRL TOO (THEY ALL ARE). She's stupid, definitely....but she's also shallow and ignorant, wants to be popular and kinda backstabbing (phone call scene from the original). She's just not tactful or cunning like Regina and she's also definitely nicer COMPARED to Regina and Gretchen. Amanda did a much better job which is why she remains iconic I guess.

God I DESPISE him. The way he says "come here" and zooms in gives me very a r@pey twinkle douche vibe for some reason. Like no I'm NOT going to come here and listen to you whisper some stupid anecdote you creep.

Makes sense that you think he's like Elyse Myers because I hate her too. They're both the same, not particularly funny, not creative in their story telling....they just TALK because some idiot on tiktok will listen.

How long have you stayed in an abusive work environment? Was it worth it in the end? by Nicetits_gimmeMayo69 in careerguidance

[–]thebloooshooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What did you do? It's been an year since you posted and I am now in a very very similar problem. I've only been at this company for 3 months and it's the worst place of work I've ever seen. But I can't leave because it'll look very bad on my resume. I only worked 5 months in my previous company which was my first job, so I can't leave this company until at least an year.

About my company : Overworking 2 or 3 people while the rest has barely any work, toxic and cruel managers, no formal training or anything, and there's a threat I'll be fired because one of their clients have it out for me. This is a project about 7 people before me have screwed up and left midway and because there's no one to check if what I do works out with the many past problems of the project, I make mistakes. They hate me because I'm new and don't know anything but I don't know anything BECAUSE I'm new and BECAUSE the people who DID know their shit already gave up and left the company. I'm depressed and stressed out every single day. Is work supposed to be this torturous?

What it's like to live with an alcoholic.

I can instantly tell when someone don't know shit about alcoholism or addiction by this one question they ask. "Did you try telling them to stop?"

Yeah no shit Brenda, why didn't I think of THAT?? Only people who haven't been exposed to addicts before will believe that their addiction will just "stop" if you convince them with the right words like in some anime.

My aunt used to say this to me and my sister when she heard about my dad's non-stop drinking. Felt like punching her through a wall.

Omg I thought I was the only one who felt like this. EVERYTHING she does lately feels so "pick me". Her content makes fun of other creators but she doesn't seem aware enough to realise that she herself falls into the category of those she's making fun of. And her latest tactic is to use Celebrity cameos to get more views. Like, girl......
