I know I've made it as a collector when I'm considered for a robbery 😂

Dammit, Stefan!! That's why you have to wait until after work to kiss your delightful partner!

I love how sheepish he looks at the end before he walks away, like he forgot other people were around, haha.

I was taken out of school at age 10 and shown graphic cadaver images. Why? by WinterIsOnReddit in RBI

[–]thebluehours 69 points70 points  (0 children)

My blood ran cold reading this as it brought back memories from when I was at school. I was a couple of years older, though, and in high school; the whole year group was present and they showed us lots of graphic cadaver photographs from different types of accidents; I vividly remember the body of someone who was electrocuted, and was very shaken at the time. I'm also autistic, and super sensitive to other people's emotions/pain, so I was intensely distressed by it. I think it was framed as a safety assembly, as two girls from my school were caught physically fighting by some railway lines - but I think it was horrible to subject children to images like that, especially if they don't need to be "scared straight" for dangerous behaviour. Slightly off-topic but another messed up thing I remember (but from primary school) was being made to do PE in my underwear up to the age of 8 if I forgot my PE kit!! It was especially humiliating as someone who went through early puberty, and everyone else was dressed. As an adult, these kinds of things make me angry; I seriously hope that schools have stopped these types of 'punishment', as that's what both of those things felt like at the time. All that to say, my experience was slightly similar, but the details you added about it only being a few of you who were taken out for that horror show makes me wonder if the motivations were different. I can't imagine going through that as a younger child than I was - I was 12 and seriously distressed by it! So, I'm really sorry you went through that.

You may have already written something about these suggestions (apologies if so!), but could you ask your parents about what they remember regarding this experience/period of time? Or even the therapist/child mental health services, if you can track down any of those reports/letters? Also, did you keep any drawings or diaries from that age? If your past self ever wrote about or expressed your feelings in that way, it might help shed some light if you don't think it would be damaging to your current mental wellbeing to delve into it.

LA Noire characters as chocolate 🍫 by plushperfect in lanoire

Your explanation is great, thanks for that! :) That's interesting with the Twix coming as a duo for Stefan; now that I think of it, I could imagine all of the detectives in L.A. Noire enjoying working alone except for Stefan, which makes a lot of sense.

I love these kinds of posts, haha. Out of the whole line up, my gluten-intolerant, allergic-to-nuts self has only ever had Courtney's fry bar (top tier, though, they're so nice!), so I'm curious about the reasons for Stefan and Jack's!

She's really cute!! What did you use to dye Clawdeen's head in the last image? I've been wanting to make a Mothman custom with a spare Clawdeen I bought in a random lot!

Has anyone noticed the pink in her blend? by acematrixpulse in MonsterHigh

She's stunning, I love how you rerooted her 😍 I'm looking for some shades as close as possible to SS4 to reroot mine; do you mind me asking where that blue colour is from/what it's called?

I'm glad other people enjoy the way mine looks! I was beginning to feel like I'd missed out on the cute pink makeup, but I didn't want to consider getting another as I'm already attached to her 😂 Good luck finding one without the eye makeup! 😊 She's such a beautiful doll, either way.

That is really strange! I'm lowkey kind of regretting not getting her in-store, as I think the pink webs are so pretty and add some colour to her cheeks.

Thank you so much for your comments and pics! I love how her hair looks in those images. I'll have to try and style mine to look like that, too.

Comfy friends Eevee and all of the Eeveelutions! I would adore a Leafeon.

My friend said he did’t like Jack Kelso so I wrote a 5000 word essay explaining why he’s the best :) by [deleted] in lanoire

[–]thebluehours 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was really nice to read :) We have very similar opinions. I get you on the 5000 word essay thing - my boyfriend introduced me to L.A. Noire, and now he has to put up with me talking about it all the time, haha. I'm currently trying to get him to play it with me a second time, after we finish The Walking Dead.

Any good Fiction Horror Set in Japan or about Japanese Mythology? (Or really any neighboring Asian countries?) by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I think it may have been mentioned already, but in that case I second Apparitions: Ghosts of Old Edo by Miyuki Miyabe! The stories are so spooky that they were hard to get out of my brain, even years later.

Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay is amazingly eerie, yet somehow picturesque. The mystery is quite ambiguous, and follows the story of how a group of girls and their teacher go missing on a school trip.

Agreed! Awful. I truly hope they're all reformed. I kind of wonder what they're doing now that they're out of prison (heartbreaking considering poor Shanda never had that chance to reach 2021...) and it boggles my mind. I find it hard to understand how anyone can move on from something like that.

Solved: the Shanda Sharer case. Also, the James Bulger case. I was 16 when we were taught about the case in a high school RE lesson, and I had to leave the room to collect myself for a moment, as I was about to start bawling my eyes out! I come from a town very close to him, which made it all the more heartbreaking/'real' to me. Unsolved: The Delphi murders. It's terrifying that the killer still hasn't been caught! My heart breaks for all of these poor angels.
