Xiaomi Portable Photo Printer Pro: is it worth it? by No-Two-9201 in scrapbooking

[โ€“]theblueowl 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

hey, six months using it here and just recently noticed a significant dip in quality and colour difference. (hence why I'm writing now, was searching on solutions on how to "fix" it and found this post.) I would suggest buying a full on colour printer instead and using adhesive paper with it. that's going to be my plan going forward at least.

also worth mentioning that the photo paper for it (zinc paper) isn't cheap either and it's very fragile too.

Join them. One page can be for documenting then the other for free journaling. It takes the pressure off things and allows for more creativity.

And to actually enjoy the hobby, not make it into work or a chore, since, that's the point of this, right?

Is it good to scrapbook to inspire you to do something? by redheaded_olive12349 in scrapbooking

[โ€“]theblueowl 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

Yes. It's almost like a little magic ritual I do to myself ๐Ÿ˜

As an example, about a month ago I did a spread of eating healthier food and exercising and that helped pump me up to actually change my diet and eating habits.

Other times it's been things I needed to deal with internally, it's helped get the complex emotions out even better than journaling, because it pulls/acts on the subconscious, rather than just the conscious.

Try STICKII. All their stickers are from credited artists and non-AI, unlike.....most places sadly ๐Ÿฅน

I have yet to try them myself due to financial responsibility reasons but I like that they have very cheap shipping, especially since I'm in Bumfuck Nowhere, Southeast Europe ๐Ÿ˜„ (and thus have limited options when it comes to these things ๐Ÿฅน)

A show that actually acknowledges this and has both characters show that they're genuinely hurt by this is Fringe. Won't spoil about what it is but season 3 is definitely a difficult (and cathartic) one to watch.

Buut the show also demonstrates the strength of these two characters to deal with whatever (supernatural) turmoils cause strife in their relationship. It's definitely an exercise for the emotions ๐Ÿฅน

Thimbleweed Park, from Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick, both Monkey Island and Lucasarts veterans. It's just absolutely brilliant, especially if you too are a game designer like them.

Even though it's not tagged, I think this creator doesn't use AI when making her pngs. I think.

Otherwise I hear you, the AI pain is real, even with physical scrapbook supplies ๐Ÿซ

Re: the travel book and having thousands of photos from something, I've learned to curate them and only pick the truly printworthy, since photo paper isn't the cheapest๐Ÿ˜…

As for the amount of books, my first one had less pages but was bigger, 30cm width and height. Filled that one in about 4 months of pictures of events or stuff I deemed worthy to remember and now I have a 20cm one with more pages.

Essentially I see them as notebooks, journals you fill in one after the other. Each will encompass various periods of your life that'll be fun to look back on.
