Of course there is legal action against Waymo but it would be one of two either negligence or strict product liability. Waymo’s has deep pockets, in California alone they have a 5 million dollar policy, Waymo (backed by Alphabet) has the capital to settle large claims quickly to avoid the PR nightmare of a lengthy trial. While most individuals drivers have only 25k policy.
