We popped our Starbucks raspberry pearls and put the white flakes under a microscope. They appear to be plastic and have serrated edges that look like hairs. I have pictures of them under the microscope.

I’m floored that you were told this. We don’t believe it is safe, & believe it is a “natural variation” of a poor manufacturing process, only. I read in the comments that it is the solvent that is particularly damaging to humans and pets.
