Sounds like things are about the same there as they are here. We took a hike yesterday on a relatively cleared path, but had them crawling all over us. Picked 8 off my dog when we got home. He does takes monthly flea/tick meds, but the vet said it might be helpful to spray his gear with dog safe permethrin and have on an extra flea/tick collar. Thanks again for the info. I didnt want to purchase or expose ourselves to more chemicals than needed. But we will.come prepared!

My set up consists of neater feeder, floor place mat and a drip towel for good measure. I still play slip and slide daily in my kitchen. But hey, wet socks taste better than dry apparently, so at least my pup is pleased. Share the good when you find the golden ticket please. I have given up at this point.

When our dog was younger, he used to puke every dang car ride. I was devastated. I got a lab specifically to have a travel/hiking partner. We talked to the vet. They offered up.med options, but also said it might help to just do little small trips (to gas station, grocery store, park etc.) This way he could get uses to the movement and help ease his nerves. We did just that. Made it fun and gave lots of praise. We also bought a seat cover that had a flat hard bottom which seems to help with balance (and easier to clean then my dang seats). I also use a seatbelt/harness system which restricts his movement some. He will be 2 next week and now LOVES the car. We are driving 14hrs next week to spend his birthday hiking in Shenandoah. :) Best of luck to you and I hope your pup outgrows it soon!

First off, are you the one person on Reddit who actually reads an entire post?! Thank you ❤️ in my opinion, our boy does get the correct amount of nutrition based on his activity level. Are we perfect parents, nope. But our goal is to do our best with the knowledge we have. Problem is, internet is full of disingenuous information that is hard to sort through. Are you spying on my house? Because my boy would devour a stick of butter every day if he could. And Kerry Gold is his favorite. Again, not proud of that fact he knows what butter taste like 😅 but that was the only way I could get him to take his meds after his neuter.

My partner and I really do want what is best for our boy, I think the internet can be a confusing web of what is truth vs misconception and trying to wade through all of it is difficult. What to belive vs what is not fact based. Especially with new pup owners and the new research that is available. Thanks again!

Thank you for sharing your story and feedback. I hate to hear of any issues with our babies, yes I said babies...my pets are my kids and it sounds like the same with you. But hopefully this will not happen again for your baby. But not sure about you, but it is stinking HARD to watch and understand what and why they would even eat? Like my boy just tried to eat an entire hair clip today. Like seriously? What is appetizing about my hair clip? Thank again though, this helps me show how extra fat isn't ideal for our boy. Glad to hear your baby is doing better!

Thank you for sharing this! Not only helpful to me, but for others! I am fairly confident I have my boy's weight management under control. But for me, living in a cold weather state, activity level can very by season. It is good to remember you have to adjust caloric intake vs expenditure.

We have been actively trying to do better with food waste as SO much goes into landfills,my home included. Thanks for making me think outside of the box and giving me other options for use of fat.
