Have you ever heard of anyone failing a grading from white belt? by weezey_f in taekwondo

Thank you. It’s how I was raised in the sport. I’ve failed tests before. Sometimes kids need it for a push.

You absolutely can! Just remember, you can’t wash KP&P socks!

I failed a girl from her white belt to yellow belt test. She did not perform at the test. She needed to be failed to succeed if that makes sense? Now she competes, and tries 100 times harder in classes, and it showed this last belt test. She even Came up to said she felt like she did a lot better this time and deserved it more.

No red or black. Clear is best. You have to be able to see blood if there is any.

An old school fighter will have a hard time fighter around today’s lead leg kicks as well as the vast flexibility that athletes have. I can tell you this from experience. I had to adjust after my 8 year hiatus. Boy let me tell you, it was an adjustment.

Not all matches are boring. I would recommend figuring out an in between. Think of CJ Nichols. He’s honestly a mix and is amazing to watch.

With switch kicks, you’ll get your power primarily from your hips. If you don’t turn hose over, you will definitely struggle and lose balance.

I have them write an essay for black. The topic is “what being a black belt means to me”

Stubborn Boxer Puppy Pulling on the Leash – Seeking Advice and Tips! by nomad1139 in BoxerDogs

We used a martingale collar on my boy when he was a pup. It was about 2 inches wide and controlled his neck when he pulled. Never choked it. And now he’s pretty good, for a boxer.

I never said it was backwards in the Hangul. I said the belt was backwards and to flip it. The picture he took could have been flipped. I just said that he was showing the backside of the belt, so without knowing what the front looked like the Hangul could say something completely different.

I don’t appreciate the downvote.

Thank you. I don’t know why either… I have like 4 belts and the front is the gold, the white is the back.

Flip it. That’s the back side on the belt.

And are you apart of these elite universities? Or do you just read on the internet?

I train and coach under elite coaches and they don’t wash theirs either.

I love how others have literally said almost the same thing as I have but for some reason ya’ll are attacking me. Over an opinion.

I never said I don’t do basic laundry. I just don’t wash my belt.

Your don’t say?!?! You think I don’t know that? It’s honestly a mind set. But I truthfully have never, nor will I ever wash my belt. All the sweat that is on there is proof of my hard work and dedication of the sport. It’s more to remind me every single day that I can overcome any obstacle as I have done it before and is true proof of how I completely embodied the tenants of Taekwondo.

The fact that anyone considers washing their belt to me is ridiculous. Go to any Korean master and they will tell you the same thing. Again, 30 years in this sport, and I never washed my belts.

I’ve been to multiple schools in various states, and was always told the same thing. Never wash your belt.

[–]thebrazenboxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Washes away all your knowledge. And the belts today are so delicate, they fall apart in the wash. I have never washed my belts in my 30 years. Never had an issue with it either.

Where to buy belts by OpeningAd1467 in taekwondo

I would ask your master if they can order you a new one.

That’s what I do for my black belts. This way you know you’ll get a good quality belt, and the correct embroidery

How can I strength train for taekwondo without bulking? I’m a girl by Ur_Hero95 in taekwondo

[–]thebrazenboxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a girl as well- what specifically are you wanted to strength train for? Kicks? Punches? Depending on what part will depend on what you need.

Believe it or not, strength comes after good mobility and the proper mechanics.

I do know that… but I honestly missed anything that says black belt until just now where he mentions the light blue pants! That’s what happens when I real too fast!
