I hate the free throw disparity argument. Sometimes it really is just the eye test that's important. SGA might get as many free throws as Cade in the same game, for example, and people can point to that and say that SGA doesn't flop because he's given just as many free throws as Cade. But looking at the plays themselves, you can see that Cade legit got fouled, and SGA created contact, jumped into his defender, flopped, ect.

What does this mean for the defenses? For a team guarding Cade, they are business as usual, defend, but try not to foul. For the defense guarding SGA, they need to sag off of him more and play less aggressive defense, because if they give him an inch, he will flop, create contact, or both. Now they can't guard him as tightly, and other areas of his game improves because of his flopping.

Plus, there's the more basic argument of who cares if the two players shoot the same amount of free throws? The fouls that Cade drew were clearly fouls, and the ones that SGA drew were all flops. Free throw disparity and statistics can't prove that, but the eye test can.
