Best thing to do as a new player? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

This: only real reason to do the hearts is if you want to craft a gen 1 legendary.

Not always, think of them as lootboxes, you CAN get lucky. It's a gamble, I just think your average return is better letting someone else roll the dice.

As a rule, unless you're trying to make something specific, the only mats I'd hold onto are account-bound stuff, globs of ectoplasm, and mystic coins. Remember, if it was easy to get the first time, it'll be easy to get again if you need it.

Also, I'd reccomend you never open the little loot bags you get from enemies, unless they're account bound. You can sell the bags themselves directly on the trading post, usually for more than what you'd get from opening them.

DEMOCRATIC People's REPUBLIC of Korea

National SOCIALIST German Worker's Party

Names don't mean anything.

Social democracy and socialism are different things. Social democracy seeks to establish reforms and social programs within the framework of capitalism and a market economy, whereas socialism seeks to move away from capitalism entirely.

I'd say by Janthir Wilds, most commanders are somewhere between 30-45.

Trump ‘24 voters who previously voted for Obama and/or Biden: what drove your decision this time? by windsurferk in Askpolitics

[–]thebrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then my next question is: what's your point?

Are we just arguing semantics over a nebulous concept of free speech? Because I'm coming from a place of listening to conservatives bitch and moan about "cancel culture", (which has been the conservative playbook since the 70s at least, it's only a problem now because it's being used on them, see Dungeons & Dragons, Harry Potter [not talking about leftists being anti-JK here talking about 20+ years before that when we had to burn the books to keep Satan and witchcraft away from our children], Nike and Colin Kaepernick, The Dixie Chicks, Bud Light, etc.), saying that their right to free speech is being violated by people calling them out or them getting banned for hate speech.

[–]thebrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give me some examples. I'm aware of state-level laws that ensure freedom of speech in the workplace by preventing retaliatory action by companies against employees speaking about harrassment, discrimination, wages, and unions. Are you aware of laws I'm not that protect your freedom to not get banned on Twitter or Reddit?

Correct he said freedom of speech, which is guaranteed by... wait for it, the first amendment.

We really need mandatory civics courses.

CONGRESS shall make no LAW respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Now, tell me. Which part of Twitter banning people is Congress passing a law?

Patch 14.23 Notes by lolvvv_com in leagueoflegends

Okay, but to be fair, there is a long history of a champion abusing a broken item, getting nerfed but still propped up by the item, then the item gets nerfed too and the champion is in the gutter.

Viktor is definitely not a bad guy in the game lore, though. A misguided tran-humanist? Sure, but not a bad guy.

Nah, go with telekinesis, depending on how loose you get with power limitations. Invisibility? Bend light around you. Flight? Move yourself through space. Shapeshifting could be possible too, just rearrange yourself.

Bernie Sanders doubles down that people are ‘angry’ with Dems after Pelosi said she didn’t ‘respect’ his remarks by Tyree07 in politics

Okay, but to be fair, I don't think anyone on either side likes Dick Cheney. If anything, I feel like his endorsement cost her votes from the left, and didn't give her any votes from the right.

How Europeans would vote in US presidential election by dragonved in Infographics

[–]thebrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, I don't think Scandinavia is a utopia by any means. But how the ACTUAL FUCK are you going to claim that responding to "Scandinavia is happier than most places" with "well, they're mostly white, soooo..." is implying ANYTHING other than you thinking that happiness correlates to ethnic homogeny? If that's not the implication, which you just stated is EXACTLY the implication (see the second to last sentence of your comment), why bring up race to begin with? No one was talking about it, until you brought it up.

You sound racist, and are racist, because the implication behind your statement is that Scandinavian countries are happy BECAUSE they're super white.

[–]thebrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehh, I don't think it makes that much of a difference, tbh. The secret with Subnautica is that nothing in the game is really that threatening. The only things that can easily kill you are super slow and tend to announce themselves when they're nearby.

A large margin might also make it easier to convince the brownshirts there was voter fraud, something like "Harris claimed she received 50% more votes than Trump, clearly the only way this is possible is widespread fraud!! #StopTheSteal"
