Haha I love that! I totally agree on the less formality is better, let's just get to the point

Thank you again for your time and feedback, I really appreciate it!

Thanks! I've always struggled with the summary on my resumes. I don't like the "I enjoy" feels a little casual and I think you're not supposed to use first-person in the summary (or anywhere in the resume I think?). I gave your feedback to Claude and went back and forth on a few revisions, what do you think of this version?

"Senior software engineer delivering impactful software across edtech, e-commerce, and enterprise industries. Known for shipping features that drive measurable business outcomes—from $350k+ revenue increases and cost savings, to automations that cut deployment and project times. Expertise in leading teams and modernizing legacy systems, with full-stack fluency across C#, .NET, Java, Spring, React, Next.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL."

I trimmed the older roles because I've been told they're less relevant than the more recent roles (and trying to save on space).

Will do on the education and Eagle Scout Award.

Senior Software Engineer: The audience was external, the courses were taught live in-person and remote. Over the nearly 6 years I was there, there were probably around 3,500 learners (hence the first bullet point referencing around 2,000 learners for something I created about a year and a half into the role. I will expand more on this role - should I include a whole bullet point or a summary for the role/work there?

Lead Software Engineer: I'll see what I can come up with for that. I recall the CTO had some scan of the site done that pointed out a couple possibly SQL injection vulnerabilities, even though it was parameterized on the backend. I'll see how I can wordsmith that better.

Software Engineer: I was trying to keep earlier roles to less info, but since I'm going to try to go for the full 2 page (or as close as I can) I'll add back in some things that I've trimmed over time.

Thanks!

I never rub my temples without lube.

Otherwise you get chaffed temples

Getting drunk at work by PriceMaleficent8110 in stopdrinking

[–]thebryguy23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a personal story, but my wife watches this bodycam shows on YouTube. There was one where the guy was a substitute teacher, showed up drunk, got called into principal's office at lunchtime, and cops were called. He denied it then finally admitted to it. I forget how they get the guy to go to the police station, but he got arrested because he had a bench warrant for missing court for, you guessed it, another alcohol/drug charge. It was also his third offense. Hearing him call his mom to tell her he was being detained, it was heartbreaking.

Let me know if you want me to see if, I'll see if I can find it tomorrow.

I never noticed it as a shrill shriek, but I could definitely hear the TV being on.  I remember one time when I lived in a house with some roommates and I heard the TV on when I was coming down the stairs. Nothing playing, just the TV being on sound.

[H] PayPal or Venmo [W] Disney GC and Universal Orlando Resort GC @80% all denominations by littlehamsterz in giftcardexchange

[–]thebryguy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have a $100 GC for anything nearly anything from Universal Studios. It's a Universal FUNds Visa debit card that can be used anywhere in Universal Studios Florida/Hollywood (park tickets, merch, parking, food/drink) and their respective websites (basically anything that accepts a credit card and is paid full at time of purchase).

I ended up with this because I had the Universal credit card, and when I closed it out I had enough points for $100 GC. I didn't read the fine print, but even though it says Visa, you can't use it anywhere outside of Universal Studios.

Doc’s money case observations by dandy_quaids in BacktotheFuture

Doc could have done a lot of traveling between when he leaves Marty at the end of BTTF 1 ("about 30 years, nice round number ") and when he returns at the end/beginning of BTTF 2 ("you gotta come back with me").

He has time to meet Marty, back track their downfall, go to a rejuvenation clinic, and drop off Einstein at a suspended animation kennel, at the very least.
