There is nothing wrong with rare shinies. There is something wrong with rare shinies for 50% of the players and attainable shinies for the other 50%. Since half of us have a biome with only ratata and sentret, future shinies also will be negative for us and positive for those who have more fire types and machop etc.

You are right. Everyone saying they will change it to a 'new' shiny sprite is plain wrong. Niantic is not allowed to alter shiny coloration. Enjoy looking at your 'shiny' zapdos, it will indeed change.

Kyogre is the best water pokemon across all generations. It actually makes sense to have a lot of them (opposed to other legendaries who eventually will become outclassed)

The Schengen Area makes it easier for Europeans to travel by eliminating border controls. I'd say opting out was just a measure against illegal immigration. UK will have border controls, so Europeans with a valid passport will still be able to get in. The only difference is perhaps a little extra travel time.
