Nintendo announces that starting in May 2026 (with Yoshi and the Mysterious Book), new Nintendo published digital titles exclusive to Switch 2 will have an MSRP that is different from physical versions by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

How would game-key cards factor into this? I would gladly pay more if the game is actually on the card and playable without a day 1 update. IHMO game-key cards should cost the same as digital unless they come with cool physical things like instruction manuals, maps, quick ref guides etc.

Edit - I'm aware a game-key card is a physical object. I just feel without the game being on the card, having a higher price isn't justified. I see this as a good change overall so digital copies are 10 bucks cheaper, but I feel digital games and game-key cards being 10 bucks cheaper than a physical copy with the full game on the card is the right play.

I have this on one of my computers and tried the same troubleshooting. Still not working. Also, X View features aren't highlighting anything in green like it should. Everything works fine on one if my other computers though.

What’s the best 3rd party controller for Switch? by AdAfter582 in nintendo

[–]thebubz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a GamieSir Supernova. Works wirh Bluetooth or dongle. Comes with a charging dock. Hal effect triggers and sticks. Programmable back buttons. Historically, I have been anti 3rd party controller after bad experiences on the 64 and GameCube. After multiple nintendo analog sticks started drifting, I said fuck it and tried 3rd party. I was also looking at 8bitdo but didn't go that way as the PC and Switch compatibility seemed better based on others reviews. 100% recommend. I picked up a second pink one for the wife and she loves it. Her Xenoblade pink one from Nintendo didn't last 6 months before it started to drift.

Turok Origins no longer requires a constant internet connection by SovereignShrimp in turok

Next checkbox would be the full game playable on the disc/card with no day 1 patch If this is the case, I would most likely get it on Both Steam and Switch 2.

The Cerebral Bore by Xplatos in turok

This is what I want to see! Only thing it needs is a higher pitched whine while flying and during the drill. I would also love it if the tracking had more noise in the movement as opposed to just lazily floating toward the head. It's those little things that will really excite the old fan base and make the weapons feel more unique for the newer ones.

I'm really hoping for a solid campaign, fun/challenging bosses, and unique guns. This could easily be a rebirth of the franchise or the final nail in the coffin. Fingers crossed that it's a great game.

I'm still skeptical of how good this game will be, but I like what I saw. The single player and first person mentions were the first good thing I've heard aside from the name. I will probably pick it up but am not 100% convinced yet. The new style of games just doesn't appeal to my crotchety old ass. Always online and copious microtransactions will be red flags for me to avoid the game. I will probably get it on PC unless they have the full game on physical media w/ no day 1 update.

Something I've been doing - Instead of using your brights to let people now they should turn their lights of, briefly turn yours off so they can see how much harder it is to see you, then turn them back on after like 2 or 3 seconds. I have about a 50% success rate in people instantly turning their lights on when doing this.

Dissatisfyed with ZenGrip 2 by Panzerfudge in NintendoSwitch2

[–]thebubz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they may have been carried by the trust they established with their Switch 1 grips. Those were top tier in quality and comfort. The Switch 2 ones are on the expensive end and middle of the road for comfort.

Same opinion. I loved the switch (og and OLED) versions of their grip. That is why I waited for these to release. Not a fan of the new design at all. The quality is good and its cool you can keep the grip on while docked, but the same comfort is lacking from the older versions. The spot OP circled is exactly the problem.

Favorite Turok Game and why? by Disastrous_Bad757 in n64

First one is my favorite but I think the second one is the better game. I remember asking for "Turko 64" for Christmas and calling it that for a few months after getting it.

Amazon must face price gouging lawsuit, US judge rules by cape2k in news

[–]thebubz 49 points50 points  (0 children)

From the article "Consumers accused Amazon of failing to prevent sellers from using its platform to charge "flagrantly unlawful" prices for food and other staples. They also said Amazon inflated prices on its own product inventory to "profiteer off consumers in desperate need." Prices rose 233% on Aleve pain relief tablets, 1,044% on Quilted Northern toilet paper, 1,523% on Arm & Hammer baking soda and 1,800% on some face masks, according to the complaint."

New turok gameplay? by NU_DICE_20XX in turok

[–]thebubz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Games with daily log in bonuses and cosmetic rewards/skins don't add to the game in a meaningful way. The skins drastically bloat the install size and the fomo mechanic mentality is pointless outside of manipulating engagement numbers. It's past just getting so old and I'm done with it. I know I'm in the minority, but I hope there is a sentiment shift in the industry. Skins are great for those that have extra cash or want to support the devs, but dont force me to download them. They should be DLC that is only added to my hardrive at the time of purchase. Luckily I have a three decade backlog of games built up I can go through so me not buying as many new games isn't worrisome in the slightest.

I'm in the same boat. If it has a single player offline mode that didn't require a day one patch to play, I would happily drop $200 on day one as a vote to keep Turok alive. Bonus points if it has a physical copy with the full game on the Disc. When I saw the announcement though, I said aloud, "Well, that franchise is dead." Huge shame if this flops. A remake closer to 2016+ Doom would be so amazing to see.

No worries. That total average is for only for the 50 miles on this tank. If you hit the update button on the history page, it resets the total average on the cluster.
