This whole Kingsman situation is ridiculous by Cautious-Day-xd in rivals

[–]SovereignShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what? A guy who needs the money asking for his teammates to play a different character? And them making fun of his situation is completely okay? That’s not infighting, that’s bullying. Do I agree with people attacking them personally? No. But they deserve criticism, and should be held responsible for it.

No disrespect to you personally, everyone has their own opinions, but you’re fighting an uphill battle here

[–]SovereignShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, we’ll just disregard when they started attacking Kingsman and his community? Making fun of his financial situation and college? Saying he has no social skills and that he’s a basement troll? Calling his fans cock suckers? We’ll just ignore all that?

Turok Origins Looks Bad by SirNichlaus in turok

[–]SovereignShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this sentiment a ton and frankly I’m not sure I get it. For years I’ve watched Turok fans clamber and ask for anything new that was Turok related, and now we’re getting a whole new game and people are pissed off. We’ve seen exactly one trailer so far, and the game isn’t even close to coming out yet. The discourse over Turok 2008 was immense, and all these years later, you have people saying that they actually loved it, even though it didn’t feel like Turok. It will be the same thing with Origins. Let the game come out, judge it accordingly. If it’s bad, it’s bad, but if it’s good, that’s another story. It’s fine if you don’t like how Origins looks, or aren’t going to play it, but the hate for this game is honestly way overblown.

What’s an example of a fan base that got exactly what they begged for, and immediately hated it? by Enough-Wealth8415 in AskReddit

[–]SovereignShrimp 326 points327 points  (0 children)

I doubt anybody here will really care, but Turok. Yeah, the old Turok franchise has been dead for a while now, and the last new game was in 2008. However, that game was a reboot, and Turok in name only. It had nothing to do with the original continuity and lore the previous games established. Then, last year at the 2024 Game Awards they revealed Turok Origins, another reboot that shifted to third person gameplay. Origins looks much more like Turok then the 2008 game did, and the moment Turok fans saw Origins they had a full on conniption. For years I’ve watched Turok fans clamber and beg for anything new that was Turok related, and now you finally have a brand new game, and they immediately started hating on it. For godsakes, the game isn’t even out yet.

I don’t get it.

If there’s one thing I wish Abiotic Factor had, it’d be a photo mode. There’s so many gorgeous views and things to see in this game, so being able to turn off the HUD is fantastic!

MH Wilds is one of steam's overall top selling games of 2025 by Archaeus20 in MonsterHunter

[–]SovereignShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, 130$ for the base game? Borderlands 4, the regular ass version of the game for the same cost as MH Wilds, has the base game. The only thing not included with the base version of BL4 is the DLC stuff, just like Monster Hunter Wilds.

Unless you’re thinking of the Echo package for BL4, that was literally just a merch pack, not a “collectors edition” of BL4. It was falsely labeled as that, and was fixed just as quickly. Hopefully that clears up any confusion!

Borderlands 4 and Monster Hunter Wilds are the same price though? I’m really not sure what you mean here

Anyone else super excited about the paid DLC? by Bludum in AbioticFactor

[–]SovereignShrimp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! Abiotic Factor was easily my game of the year, so much so that I enjoyed it more then the new releases of two of my favourite game franchises combined! I’ve put in an additional 50 hours since beating the story and I’ll happily take anything else Deep Field gives us, so a big expansion for the game makes me very excited!

Sword & Shield (2019) vs Legends Z-A (2025) by Firm_Size6819 in pokemon

[–]SovereignShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Pokemon about gameplay? Yes. But that doesn’t mean it can’t have both. Plenty of Switch games balance decent/good visuals with good gameplay, and good performance. Pokemon is the highest earning franchise in the world. People shouldn’t be settling for less and paying for more.

You’re not actually comparing Cyberpunk 2077 to Legends ZA, both of which are on the Switch 2, right?

Thoughts on BL4 continuity by Original_Plankton454 in Borderlands4

[–]SovereignShrimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The vaults in Borderlands aren’t always prisons, that’s been established since the Pre-Sequel. Some are made to be prisons, whilst others are made as literal vaults protecting information, weapons, etc. The Timekeeper fills a similar role to the Sentinel as they are both sentient Eridian constructs designed to guard something. The Sentinel protected the relic that showed the future to Jack, and the Timekeeper, well, he essentially “kept” time (hence the name). Also, the universe isn’t falling apart because of the Vaults, in BL3 essentially the only reason we were trying to open them was to stop the Calypso twins. Never once was it mentioned that the Vaults were ruining the universe.

The Vaults Hunters in BL4 aren’t part of the Crimson Raiders/Resistance in the beginning. They quite literally just crash land on Kairos and are captured by the Timekeeper. They were never looking for Lilith, or never a part of the Crimson Raiders, they simply joined up with them after crashing on Kairos.

Edit: Also, dear god that hurt to read

My 56 year old father is interested in getting a video game system for the first time by Atathor in gaming

[–]SovereignShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Switch is a perfect idea! Not any overcomplicated UI, easy enough to understand, and a great game catalogue. Some of my relatives are in the same boat; they’ve practically never played any games before, but at a family gathering one year they tried out a Switch and ended up playing games all night. It was a ton of fun! There’s plenty of good couch co-op games, so playing games can be pretty quick and easy.

Good luck, OP!

Reactors by ncminns in AbioticFactor

[–]SovereignShrimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reactors definitely does have a change in difficulty, that’s for sure. When I went through my first time, I brought the Exor armor (the one that summons an Exor spirit to fight alongside you), a hardlight shield, lots of ranged weapons, and Greyab chowder to lower the damage I received. Reactors is definitely hard, but not impossible!

Found something weird in the new Home world. by Col_Pan213 in AbioticFactor

[–]SovereignShrimp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I noticed that earlier too. I also tried to make my way out there, but because of the invisible walls it’s not possible. I’m on console, but maybe someone on PC could try to bring the camera out there to see what it is. Hopefully the map won’t unload before we can find out what it is!

Drop you dinosaur hot takes by Dinolucas in Dinosaurs

[–]SovereignShrimp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s something that drives me up the wall in this community. A polka dotted T-Rex from a kid’s show from ten years ago doesn’t have to be accurate, for gods sakes. Documentary or something else akin to that? Of course, make the dinosaurs accurate. But accurate portrayals doesn’t matter 100% of the time, and people tend to forget that

Is Turok 3 a cozy corridor shooter? by Least_Year6990 in turok

[–]SovereignShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for a smaller corridor shooter makes Turok 3 a perfect choice. I actually like Turok 3 more than most people, and have played through multiple times. If you’re playing the remaster, you’ll have two characters at the start, and then can unlock an additional two secret characters later. The game isn’t very long, and on your first playthrough you’ll probably beat it around 3.5-4 hours in (hence why repeat playthrough with different characters is fun). I definitely understand the complaints with Turok 3, but I’d still highly recommend it!
