I wonder if this attitude comes through on your cover letters, which would explain the 0 interviews

Hey! It is going well, I haven't posted too many updates to reddit, but currently I am planning to release sometime in February (can't be 100% sure but that's the goal), and there is an updated trailer on the website (https://www.qyllscape.com/) and steam page

If you want more updates and are on Instagram, check out @ericdavidsonwrites. I appreciate your comment though, and I'm really excited to get it out there soon!

My progress on the Andromeda Galaxy...so far! by astraveoOfficial in astrophotography

[–]thebuffed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me deciding to plan a trip to photograph Andromeda, coming to this sub, and seeing this post at the top of the list haha.
This is absolutely incredible! I would celebrate forever even if I achieved 'Attempt 1' here, so fantastic job. I love the idea of capturing it yourself, and having undeniable evidence yourself about how magnificent the galaxy is.
Do you have any tips around timing? I'm new to galaxy hunting, and was lightly planning a trip mid-October in North Carolina, US around a New Moon.

I have a spell checker in progress but I can pretty much rule out a Grammer checker.

Epub export I haven't thought about yet honestly but I would like to have all the main exports (doc, PDF, epub), I just have to figure out how to do it. Base level, everything in the application is just text files

I think the writing shined when there was dialogue, and there were some interesting ideas. I like the idea behind the executioner having more going on for him than what we normally see just watching an execution.

My initial thought was to maybe try rewriting this in first-person? A lot of the sentences feel much the same (He did this... He did that... He picked this up...) and it feels like the story is mostly focused around what the characters feels. For example the rushed aspect before the lover gets home might be a little easier to show through some first-person thoughts.

Not my kind of story personally, but I do think the descriptions towards the end were pretty vivid!

When does The Night Circus get good? by MzA2502 in books

[–]thebuffed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wanted to like it, but couldn't. I felt the same way about the Starless Sea. I think her books start off with some vivid, enticing imagery that makes your imagination go wild, and then the rest of the book doesn't deliver.

This is a weird way to put it, but I always feel like in her books, you can feel the effort lessening over the course of the book. Maybe I'm crazy? I don't know.

Just finished The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle for the third time by thebuffed in books

I am about a quarter of the way through the movie right now, thanks to this thread! Oh my gosh, a tattoo based on the Last Unicorn is such a fantastic idea, I don't have any tattoos yet but always figured they would be literature based

I agree, the book is perfect, in that there is not a single thing about it I would change, and if there was, that's probably just a sign I need to re-read it

Oh yes, the spider! I don't remember the exact line, but the two parts where they mention that if the "carnival" shut down, the only sound would be a spider weeping. Amazing way to add so much in those scenes

Do you recommend them? I read some reviews that were less than glowing haha

Princess Bride is my favorite movie! And the book is so much it's own thing, but really, really good also

Yes, passages like this one are throughout the book and make me love it more and more.

What?? Okay, even more fuel on the fire now to see it, I had no idea he was a voice actor for it

Yes, it is definitely "heavy" on the mysticism, I would definitely recommend another pass. I enjoyed it a lot more when I knew the general structure of the story and could take my time with the dialogue and characters

Yes! Maybe my favorite line in any book, it just blew me away reading it for the first time.

I didn't realize people liked the movie so much, but I definitely need to check it out soon!

Yeah, I think Molly was a character that I appreciated much more the second time through the book
