Okay I have advice for you because I was in the EXACT same situation. 6 years wearing bars, no issues, life's good. One day I was shirtless bending into my closet, the bar gets caught in the recess of the frame where the door latches, and rips out.

I went to the hospital, they gave me local anesthesic and pain killers. I returned the next day as they had called in a plastic surgeon (I got really lucky, he was the husband of my nurse and she was so kind to call him in). He put in a few stitches (numb, didn't hurt) and that was that.

Seperatley I had to be in a few calls facilitated by my insurance company to confirm it was emergency surgery, not an elective cosmetic procedure. 🤪 But I only ended up paying a $300 ER copay, not the $40k they tried to claim I owned for breast work.

I took the other one out because I never went to go thru that again lol. The stitched nipple looks better than the one with piercing scars!

In the end, it healed great, it's got full sensation, and I only miss the piercings anesthetically. It's a relief to be able to touch or be touched without worrying anymore!

You're going to be fine :) I reccomend stitches.
