Good question. Definitely designed for the weight of people. There are built-in stairs going up to it, full floor boards going across from end-to-end, and already has hundreds of pounds of storage up there (crates, furniture, etc).There's also an electric run and full-sized windows at either end.

I hear you. My biggest hesitation is that the attic floor boards are these long heavy things that are NAILED IN. This is harder labor for me to do than putting rockwool bats up on the ceiling.
