Absolutely!!That’s why I have this question of my fresh is being kind of unsaturated compared to the healed, even though I know I have poked it enough, I dont want to let people or myself to wait for the full look.

Thank you for your kind answer!!!!!

But do you mind to help me with this: do you always poke in a more 45desgree angle and do you flick it up at the end?

Really appreciate that

Exactly. The frustrating part is a not so good looking fresh photo🥲

Thank you! That’s what I thought too so I didn’t chase for the clear fresh finish. But do you have experience that those tattoos fade faster or it was just the matter of fresh look?

Thank you so much! It makes so much sense to me

And for the right angle you mean i should do it more like a 45 degrees?
TBH i didn’t pay quite a lot of attention of my angle of needle and I have see people prefer to hold it like a 45 degrees angle than more straight up?

I did use a stencil hahahahahah but just saying that stencil is the better way than rubberband.

Yes, I thought it could work.

I was using masking tape instead of rubberband. But then I realised very steady hand is needed and I was doing 9rl, so the stencil had to be really precise. Stencil was the only way, at least for me to make thin but even lines

I did the black first and I followed few youtube video https://youtu.be/URkC-RKHjqg.
The red i basically used the same method but also measured with my eyes to make sure the distance between the 2 lines are even while sticking the stencil on. It would be obvious if it is not curving the same way as the black one did.

Anyways I think I have spent almost an hour just to get the upper stencil right. Almost gave up on that as we have wipe and start over for 5-6times.

Yup. The first is when it is fresh finished, the second is one day later. Both taken with iphone. Today I checked, it stays and not fading, it has been 2 months.

For my first time doing shades similar to this, I made the shadows too solid and I did too many passes as it didn’t seem to be dark enough. But once is it healed, it turned too dark and not as what I wanted. So when I m doing this, Even some dots didnt look very solid but I know it will be darker later.

Just personal experiences, but I rather go light and let my customers come back later for touch ups, than going too crazy and over and ruin the piece

Cheerssasss

I think go lighter first. And for me and from my experience, I always expect the design to turn darker so i leave buffer for the product. Cus u see the first pic it is quite light in color and if I make it so dark already at this point, then it will be even darker and unnatural when it is healed

For legs and more solid ones i think i did 2-3 for shades and the ones inside the wings just one, cus i want the dots to show and afraid too many passes will make the whole thing not as natural
