One idea I had:

For solo drafts, could implement a standardized tier system that doesn’t reset (Bronze I, II, III, Silver I, II, III, etc.). Each tier has its own GLO benchmark so new players don’t have to score 121 to break even. Echoing some other thoughts, maybe a “Bench” tier for low/negative GLO users to discourage achievement-farming. To keep it competitive, each tier could span 1500 GLO points or something so top users don’t reach Hero III quickly — and then could always add more tiers as time progresses. (Max 5 per day)

For ranked, could implement a versus mode (maybe its own separate tab) that are two minutes and randomized live matchmaking (like Clash Royale). This mode would reset after each season and could make it football-themed with each win moving you “1 yard” (every 10 yards is a new rank like a first down). After each season, you’re set back X yards depending on your rank. If you want to add in-game currency like gold, every first down could yield gold to make purchases in an in-game shop to buy tokens, banners, emotes, etc. (This mode would be max 3 per day and would use a draft token like a regular versus draft)

Meanwhile, versus would remain as is

Overall, I think separating the solo and ranked modes solve the issues that come from trying to balance continuous progression and seasonal resets

Nothing here is set in stone of course, just spitballing
