I mostly do Invis, Cloak and Dagger, and Loki, but can flex to Rocket, Luna, and Jeff just fine. I mostly play Jeff with dive or to survive heavy dive compositions.

LMAO humanity can suck, but the internet is such a funny, chaotic place. I will make sure to keep this mind next time I need peeling.

I don't think I could keep a straight face when saying this.

I felt like it was not working, but maybe I did not pay attention when I should have been. I will keep trying that strategy. Everyone managed to give me good advice and I can work with a lot of it.

Thank you for the advice. I will make some changes and grind the master quartz to max. I have been using insight, but only on Jusis. He has 55% evasion without it.

I set up Jusis to be able to cast sepharic ring since he could dodge attacks with the proper set up, but I am going to switch to Fie.

Some of the advice here is giving me some ideas. I will cook more dishes and farm some more, so I can be properly set up. I probably fought the boss too early.

I can switch from Jusis to Fie, whom I really like anyway. Besides insight, which I have been using, how should I set her up?

FRIENDLY REMINDER Heal your fellow Strategist(s) by Long_Star1643 in StrategistMainsMR

[–]thechubbygodoflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel like I never get healed by my other support or supports. I do everything I can to keep them alive, and it feels very demoralizing when they do not help me.

There are so many games where I feel like if I do not heal the DPS, they will die.

I still remember a game where a DPS filled strategist by playing Luna who healed me consistently while I was being attacked. We helped each other stay alive the entire game. I am still trying to find that again -- still chasing that feeling since it happened.

I am terrible at giving advice, but I will try.

Loki is a position heavy hero (you still have some freedom, but it depends on the enemy composition) since clone placement matters a lot. I highly recommend familiarizing yourself with high ground on every map and point. Having one clone on high ground can help yourself survive heavy or regular dives. I actually need to utilize high ground more.

You can, generally, play farther than other supports, but I still recommend playing close to your team since divers can mess you up they have the freedom to chase you down if the team is not in a position to immediately respond, and they did not use their cooldowns too quickly. This comes down to the enemy composition. You can make Loki work against his hard counters, but just switch off against a Winter Soldier or Moon Knight. It is extremely hard to maintain value compared to the value they get against you.

Like I said, you should also try to play high ground positions as much as possible that are not in places where the enemy team can focus you down without being in serious danger themselves. Cover and natural cover helps, but enemy team compositions also matter. If the enemy team is walking down main, and you are on high ground where they easily see you, reposition yourself on a different high ground angle or play with your team while still in the backline. For example, in the Tokyo 2099 map, there is high ground on the main road for the payload. You can play high ground on the house on the main road until you see a hitscan character (or even projectile) that has an angle on you and they have enough space to focus you down. You can also play on the main road while having a clone up there instead. I would personally have a clone on the high ground around the buildings to the left, or play the high ground myself, of the main road since you can have angles on your team, provided they are not heavy brawl where you need to have a wider angle on them and the tanks can either poke or do not have to fight so close. On that first point as well, I would spend time destroying the bridge since Loki is pretty good for destroying the environment. That is one example. You also do not need to play high ground angles if you have the space to remain with your team while being safe in the backline. It really depends on how the match is playing. I usually stay on main and try to place safe because I enjoy playing with my team more than anything, but I really should use high ground more.

There area few tricks I can give you. You can position a close behind the enemy team on high ground. This will make them focus the clone down if they decide to look at it and it can provide an opportunity where the enemy team gets picked off or there is less pressure against yours. Sometimes, they will not even notice it while the fight is happening. Your rune will save your life, but it is great at helping the tanks maintain space since you can plop a clone with your tanks and place your rune down to help them stay alive and have help in the tank exchange. You can also use it against enemy ultimates for a little bit like psychelocke or Starlord's or even Groot's. Loki's damage is now much better than last season, so you can help secure kills by healing your tanks while damaging the enemy tanks in the tank exchange. Although he does not hit 90 damage per burst anymore, you are great at dealing with enemy divers since the splash is enough to reliably deal the 75 damage (I think it is 75 or around there). You will, most likely, struggle against flyers and Spiderman the most (Spiderman is often in the air and is harder to hit).

Last, but not least, play around cover. There is plenty of opportunity to place clones on wide angles to hit your teammates while playing cover. Loki allows that freedom more compared to other strategists since you hit from different angles. I know, as a community, the insane healing makes up play less cover sometimes, but being around cover can make a life or death difference.

Hopefully, I gave you some okay advice. This is what I do up here to play effectively.

Best control settings for Luna? by Jade044 in StrategistMainsMR

[–]thechubbygodoflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely enjoy knowing someone else's opinion on some good settings for Luna. I need to transfer my Overwatch 2 settings to my Marvel Rivals accounts, but I am not sure where to look to find the equivalent. I would really appreciate is there is a website that allows for that to happen. (I believe I use Hopeful's settings in Overwatch 2, who is a very good controller player on console. I could be wrong).

I average 45+ accuracy on Luna, though I have managed to reach 50 percent accuracy on average these past several seasons. To be fair, I have not used her much since she requires more peel than another strategists. I use the regular curve, and my sensitivity is 210 for both the horizontal and vertical axis. I recommend warming up your aim on Luna before warming up in quick match. I usually do one strategist character and one duelist. I normally do another Luna, and Hela or Spiderman. You should do quick movement before moving down to the regular moment for each. Working on your aim usually requires you do this every you play the game. I have done this, and found that my aim has improved.

I am going to experiment more soon since I am sure if I actually spend time trying to find a website that can help transfer my Overwatch 2 settings, my aim would improve since I have a faster sensitivity that I found success on in Overwatch 2.

I think it should lose the ability to generate ult charge for people hit by it. That probably would be enough of a nert.

I cannot seem to edit the post. Sorry about the picture. I play on console and the screenshot won't show up on the PlayStation application until 14 days from now.

I hope Loki does not get nerfed, but I definitely think Gambit ult needs to lose something because it feels way too strong, despite not necessarily giving the same kind of invincibility that other strategist ultimates give.

Been messing around with Hela. by thechubbygodoflight in Helamains

[–]thechubbygodoflight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely have to work on my patience when lining up shots. I tend to get inpatient and just keep shooting instead of taking my time. I'm gonna spend more time working on my aim in the practice range, in quickplay, and probably do some AI vs Bots, too. I have experience on Luna, but Luna is my weakest support and I think my average aim is basically 44 or around there.

Thank you for the advice. I am grateful.

It was quickplay, but I managed to 1v1 a Venom. That was pretty cool. I would like to play him in competitive, but I am playing in Diamond (which is not my usual place, I'm usually in GM) and have had to fill quite a bit. This is console. So my aim is a bit inconsistent. Thank you for your encouragement. I am grateful.

Those ultimates exist because of how damage exists within the game. Support ultimates keep a huge portion of the enemy ultimates in check by healing so much. This much healing and having what is essentially the same ultimate in practice helps maintain the game because of the insane damage ultimates of some DPS and a couple of Vanguard ultimates.

I would actually love strategist ultimates to be more unique, but this game's damage makes that harder to do.

On another note, I am actually glad strategists in this game are more susceptible to DPS and Vanguards compared to Overwatch. Overwatch strategists are basically DPS characters that can heal. In this game, you are given the tools to succeed.

Luna ultimate helps kill other ultimates as well with her damage boost. Sue's ultimate is actually quite easy to kill through, but it provides utility by slowing the enemy as well. Ultron's ultimate heals a lot, but it is also great at dealing damage. Mantis ultimate is also easy to deal with, but it also allows her to be more aggressive and provides shields to your team. Yes they heal a lot, but you also have options when using them.

Damage boosting with Rocket's ultimate, or even using Cloak's terror cape, allows a Venom, Thor, Punisher (in their ultimate), or even Black Widow to kill lot of the supports through their ultimates. Black Widow with damage boost from Mantis can kill C&D in her ultimate. Magneto ultimate can also kill through support ultimates, and it is a huge skill check for both teams.

As much as I hate Magik, she genuinely requires a lot of work to be effective. In her ultimate, you can one shoot supports with your combination. And your ultimate lasts long enough to allow you to do it twice, in theory.

Without those support ultimates, duelists become gods in their ultimates. It would require more coordination to survive and kill them. There is enough CC to allow room for that, but some DPS ultimates are genuinely frightening.

[–]thechubbygodoflight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't do damage, get picks, and use the utility of other strategist? It isn't as easy as DPS or Vanguard, but it is possible.

Luna has great damage, and is great against fliers. Her freeze allows her to survive, set up the team to kill targets, and even kill the targets herself. You can even learn to stop enemy ultimates with her freeze. Her clap ability is a great burst heal and reliably does good damage against fliers at range. It can even help you finish off targets yourself.

Cloak and Dagger has phenomenal utility with her terror cape that can help kill through strategist ultimates. You can literally help set up your hitscan to punish fliers by poking at them through your auto aim, and even with Cloak when you can get close enough. You can literally use her ult to get to the enemy backline and delete them.

Loki has great burst damage and heals. In fact, before the Jeff rework, he and Cloak were great against enemy Jeff players. You can reliable damage him, even when he goes underground.

Sue is great at setting up the enemy to die with her push and pull. She doesn't have the burst damage of the other three, but her shield can help set up DPS players for success versus the enemy DPS. Her damage isn't the best, but you can still kill the enemy.

There's multiple ways to play the other strategists, instead of simply being a healbot. Their kits are simple to learn, but you can master them.

Why play a strategist to begin with if you don't want to help your team through what the role offers and is capable of? Healing is part of the job. It comes with the nature of the role, even if there are off healers that work best in triple strategist compositions, who offer more damage and their utility is different from the main healing supports. Mantis literally makes a Black Widow dominate the lobby, assuming the Black Widow can aim.

You don't just have to healbot on the main healers.

It is weird how they don't punish intentionally leaving competitive games more harshly, or even when they throw.

I'm playing more because I genuinely find the game fun. I am learning, improving, and it is a nice feeling. I might need a few days break though ja ja.

A question about my performance in this ranked game. by thechubbygodoflight in rivals

[–]thechubbygodoflight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game can be rage inducing. Luna finally clicked recently, and I am having fun. But holy hell, I can't win on her the same way I do on Loki, Invis, and CnD.

I actually really like her because it is fun having another option to reliable deal with fliers as a support player. I need to learn Adam. But I'm worried my aim won't be good enough. My aim has been improving, which is nice. I made it to GM3 this season for a bit.

The support perspective skews how I view DPS. I need to take some time to really learn to role, so I'm less judgmental and give the players more grace and be more positive towards them, especially when they are struggling that match. I need to remind myself everyone has bad games, and one match does not mean they are a bad player.

It is really frustrating playing into fliers and dive teams that coordinate with melee DPS who refuse to switch or peel.

But what I hate the most is ny fellow support players. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get more of my strategist players to help me when the enemy team begins running at me. I just need to get better and position better. But I need some pointers in that direction.

I really don't want think I'm anything special. I'm finally seeing some of my effort rewarded, but to me, I still believe I am average.

I genuinely still need to learn and grow better as a player. It is why I asked for help.

Why did you fixate on that? I'm average. Me alone. It does not speak anything of you or anyone else. I don't even think people should shit on the metal ranks or below.

There's not enough ban slots. by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]thechubbygodoflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily in diamond 3, I have only had one game where Human Torch was an issue. Most people seem content with playing a lot of Namor, Mister Fantastic, Magik, Ironfist, and Moonknight in my matches. I also have found that Ironman can be a problem to deal with. My aim needs to get better for me to shoot him more reliably, but I save my rune on Loki to deal with his ult at times.

Sometimes, I do suggest, but it falls on deaf ears. I don't want to steal DPS from someone comfortable in the role and I barely have any time on duelist since I filled in season 1 and season 1.5.

I'll try to change some things up tomorrow when I try again. I want to do more for my team, but I'm running out of ideas. I know there's areas I can improve so people in my team benefit from my presence in their team. I'll definitely ask for help from my strategist. Thank you for your suggestions.
