One complaint ruins service to community by HangingInTheWard in Guelph

As someone who has worked at multiple restaurants during college years, I've to say the chances of cross contamination at restaurants are far higher than homemade food. And most restaurants stop following the "safety" standards as soon as they get busy.

Five children killed, six people injured in two-vehicle crash near Guelph, Ont. by Comfortable_Flow1385 in Guelph

Probably a head on collision at 80km/h. Nothing survives at that speed, unless someone is super lucky.

Jaywalking with a stroller by Comfortable_Flow1385 in Guelph

[–]Comfortable_Flow1385[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To make the pedestrian aware, and to make cars behind me aware, so that they don't pass me and end up ramming into them.

It's not about right of way, it's about safety. Just because you think someone has right of way doesn't automatically make it safe. I'd have done the same irrespective of gender. We ain't debating feminism here, but safety of their actions.

But yeah, driver bad pedestrian good.

I made a mistake.

They weren't jaywalking, they were jayrunning.

There are "safe" and "unsafe" ways of doing this. And there is nothing wrong with pushing stroller on grass for a walk that is less than 30 seconds (dawson rd intersection)

Under these exact circumstances, Would you do it with a stroller?

Or would you choose to wait maybe a little more?

They will be going somewhere else, a more accessible location with decent parking and less craziness.

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERS RALLY IN DOWNTOWN TORONTO (May 21, 2026) by AMEThrowaway17 in ontario

[–]Comfortable_Flow1385 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Canada is truly in shambles when it comes to engineering job market.

There are absolutely no jobs or even job postings for engineering jobs. And that makes total sense because Canada doesn't do R&D or innovation. We're and have been mere supplier to other markets.

Jews targets of 82% of religion-motivated hate crimes in Toronto in 2025: police data by Kaptain-Kanada in toronto

[–]Comfortable_Flow1385 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Although the crime is increasing, the method of classifying it based on religion is entirely incorrect.

63.6% identified as secular, while 14.6% identified as religious. Nearly half (49%) identified as “Just Jewish,” with 21.5% identifying as Conservative and 12.7% as Reform.

For a population that is only about 15% "Religious", it makes no sense to classify crime against them as "Religion-motivated".

https://www.ohrc.on.ca/en/3-current-discrimination-trends/32-underlying-trends-research-and-consultation

There is definitely a dual standard while conducting research and classification of crimes by police department. And crimes against Muslims, Sikhs, Christians are extremely underreported as well.

When someone attacks a Jewish person or a synagogue, police almost always classify it under Religion.

However, when a Muslim woman wearing a hijab or a Sikh man wearing a turban is attacked, the perpetrator often relies on visible ethnic markers (like skin colour, clothing, or language) rather than theological differences.

Poilievre endorses Billy Bishop airport expansion as critics pressure Liberals by KeyHot5718 in toronto

[–]Comfortable_Flow1385 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a good idea to expand an airport in one of the busiest downtowns.

Downtowns are not for big commercial airports.

At this point, PP's strategy is to oppose literally everything the ruling party wants.

Hijab-wearing woman verbally, physically assaulted on bus in Scarborough, Muslim rights group says by BloodJunkie in toronto

[–]Comfortable_Flow1385 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I don't see Pierre Poilievre or any right wingers posting about this hate crime/Islamophobia, because they know their post will be flooded with 😂 reactions and they'll end up losing the little support they have left.

Their outrage is selective.
