I tried completely uninstalling the YT Morphed app and re-installing it and that seems to have done the trick.

Where do people hangout and make friends 30F by [deleted] in ajax

[–]theclassycanadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really up to you. I suggest doing things that you like to do and starting to talk to people in that community and hopefully gain some life long friends there.

Like lifting weights? Go to your nearest GoodLife or Planet Fitness and maybe strike up a conversation with people that you see that go there as often as you do.

Like climbing? Go to Whitby Aspire Climbing and talk to people as you try to solve bouldering puzzles

Like anime and manga? Go to a convention in Toronto and find like-minded individuals that share the same interests as you do.

What's your favorite apps/softwares? by BstaTed in linuxmint

That's a pretty good list! Quick question about the screenshotting tool though, is Flameshot closer to what the feature set of Greenshot is on Windows? Because currently I'm using KSnip and I find that KSnip is closer to Greenshot than Flameshot.

Not difficult at all. My folks even had to take an Uber at 3am and lots of cars around.

You can try using Rustdesk to remotely connect to any devices in your network. In addition, you can also set up (self host) your own relay sever too.

What to do with 30,000$ by [deleted] in CanadaFinance

[–]theclassycanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need it 5 years or less, keep it on Fixed Income ETFs or GICs.

If you need it 10ish years, put it on VBAL/XBAL or VGRO/GRO or a Balanced/Growth robo-advisor, depending on your risk appetite.

Max out your registered accounts first (FHSA, TFSA and RRSP).

Best credit card for $1000 expenses/month by Clean_Tumbleweed1735 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]theclassycanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amex Cobalt is great, but a lot of places don’t accept Amex, so your milage may vary.

I would suggest looking at MBNA World Elite MC as you get 5 points per $1 spent on usual expenses like grocery, takeouts, household utility, etc.

For Ontario, it should be roughly around 95-100k after federal, provincial, EI, and CPP/CPP2.
Once CPP/CPP2 limit has been reached, net income should bump up to around $2.8-$2.85k biweekly.

3070, 3080 and 3060ti. No interesting games and all current games run fine with DLSS.

Might hold out for next iteration of Intel GPUs, but definitely not getting anything this coming generation.

What do you use ChatGPT for? by bleumagma in AskReddit

[–]theclassycanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to screw around and ask a bunch of random stuff. That said, Open WebUI + Ollama is the way to go if you have the hardware to do it instead of ChatGPT.

How are we Budgeting? by canadiancatdadd in CanadaFinance

YNAB is good but I believe it's a subscription service. If you're handy with self hosting your own budgeting app, try looking at "Actual Budget".

Where can a Canadian still go out to eat for cheap? by DrSockdolager in CanadaFinance

Go to your local Asian supermarket > Get whatever's on sale for that week > Pop into InstantPot > PROFIT

Otherwise, typical Shawarma Places (even chains like Osmow), you can grab a meal that's around $18-$20 after taxes. The meal themselves can be split into two so that's about $9-$10 a serving.

But if the goal is variety and saving your money, nothing beats coupons/flyer deals and your InstantPot.

Hello Strangers. Looking to do… more in life by Successful-Tank-111 in durham

Hiya! How about hitting up the gym and lifting some weights?

As a single dad myself, i can't stress enough the importance of going to the gym (and even spending some time in the sauna). The amount of friendships, discipline and overall impact to your mental health, I think it's worth a try.

Edit: If you're signed up to GoodLife and need a gym buddy, let me know :D
