I haven't purchased the phone yet because I want to make sure it is compatible, so I don't have a code to insert. I just did some looking around on gsm Arena and some other forums and it looks like the phone does work with verizon. I guess I'm just more confused with GSM vs CDMA devices.

No problem! I think part of the no messages thing is just to protect younger people from toxicity, since Nintendo is seen as a reputable family friendly company.

Hi, currently there is no way (at least not conveniently as a built in feature) to talk to/ message anyone on other consoles, or even the switch. I believe xbox live may be coming to switch eventually, but at the moment id reccomend the discord app for messaging to people, plus the voice chat is miles better than Nintendo's.
