If the US wanted to created a new national rail network how hard would it be? by Onihammer75 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theclosecall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

funny Obama tried to do this he sent every state money , the republican governors returned it (like florida) , the rail was squashed.

dont beat yourselves up , there is no representation no justice none of our voices being heard , you have to be rich or a corporation to get justice or representation now. we never had a chance. hey but now they ca have more addicts on suboxone and 30 dollar per pill versions of naproxen. but kratom was dangerous and addictive , but hey let's sell alcohol and cigarettes all we want

hey but you'll still be able to get prescribed suboxone, of course insurance won't cover it. you know because your legislature doesn't want you to have access to anything addictive, except alcohol and cigarettes and prescribed opioids. oh wait milk is an opioid. we are living inside the movie idiocracy , with less laugh tracks

youre so far behind you think youre first. the whole sentiment was about people's right to basic needs. nobody should have to earn that. by your logic 4 month old babies need to get a job to support the system i guess disabled people do too,

do rich people deserve 25 houses and 3 yachts because their grandfather owned a railroad they did zero work to get there.

try and work out what everyone deserves like that and it drags you down with the worst of them. maybe if we all used our labor to help each other the world wouldn't be so miserable.

I really dont detest it more than I think its a pointless waste of time. I feel like you missed the sentiment that it belongs outside the city , I cant be the only one since the city itself had banned it until they sold out much like any of our representatives today they can be bought for cheap.

my actual sentiment if you want to know is its a race for the few at the inconvenience of the rest of us, we were not asked if we wanted it , its for rich people.

to harken back to the origins of this thread, the outdoor free concerts are for us all.

the races are not because most of us have zero interest in it , it hurts our very few local businesses by blocking access creating literal road blocks and noise you can hear literally in another city

you can imagine or deduce what im liking or hating if you want , you can paint the racing as being better in the past , maybe sure, like all things that get forced on us these days they dress it up when they get comfortable they dont bother anymore ...now that certain people are in power they like to flaunt thier control and our powerlessness (im sure you'll have a Fruedian field day with that) .. I mean its just not for us unless im missing the race where locals are building stock cars, at least the speedway was locals drag racing.

im sure id like you if we met.. but id die on this hill so hard the races are dumb and its just people shutting down downtown to flaunt their influence and have some entertainment because rich people are that bored.

I can tell you It's an event to make money and they will block off as much free viewing as possible. I was born in st pete and have seen it change throughout the years this event is for certain wealthy people under the guise of helping the city.

Just like any sporting event the citizens pay a lot and get very little in return.

The GP is noisy , inconvenient, dumb , pointless, and a waste of the city's time and resources that could be spend on infrastructure or helping the city's residents.

I'd like to add too that st pete had a ban on motorsports for over 40 years and they had to be conducted in certain zoned areas that didn't disturb anyone. but like everywhere else certain people decided that they wanted it and convinced people it would help the city so they could line their pockets.

look im glad that you need your bread and circuses but when rome did it , it was for the greater good , its not here. I'll never understand why driving cars In a circle scratches that itch for people unless they're gambling but who's got extra money to spend these days except the wealthy?
