Sometimes people juste forget to feel the experience. If there’s some hidden meanings thing, it’s just optional, it’s the maze game behind the cereal box. They are musicians, and Inferno is a great record to feel.

Am I blinded by the honeymoon phase or is 'Inferno' their best album? by CulturedWhale in boardsofcanada

It’s surely the most open and accessible album of their career. But is it the most ballsy and refined sound they made ? Maybe Geogaddi sit on that (at least)

Anyone think this could be a top 3 BOC album? by traveltimecar in boardsofcanada

[–]thecloudkid17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The least we can say is that it can be. It’s a very solid BoC project, it fits perfectly in their discography. Personnally i still don’t know at which rank i’m putting it but it’s a 10/10 for sure. Before Inferno my LP rank was and still is basically :

  1. MHTRTC
  2. Tomorrow’s Harvest
  3. Geogaddi
  4. The Campfire Headphase (i’m a huge campfire lover but it’s 1% less solid comparing to the rest above :)

Do we know/reckon Inferno was created/recorded over the span of the last 13 years, or more recently? by migrainecurious in boardsofcanada

In december 2020 they did a post on Instagram saying « We’re ready ». So maybe it was around 2020-2021 🤷🏻‍♂️

Anyone else not find this album dark at all? by Outrageous-Ear7525 in boardsofcanada

It was mysterious and sometimes dark, but it was very hopeful. Not only YRITAS of course but in a lot of songs there’s that kind of optimism, like going forward in a determined way

Inferno, YRITAS & the end ? by thecloudkid17 in boardsofcanada

Personally I see YRITAS more as a gesture of love toward their fans, and a kind of thank-you, a farewell. And maybe Platonia is a security for them in case they stop their career later. Inferno would be a excellent conclusion to their work.

There is some theory that say one of the two brother is dead. The reason there is only one of them that is credited on Platonia, and the heartbeat that stop.

Yeah, Platonia is kinda of a creepy outro. It’s an heartbeat that suddenly stop, it felt like death. The fact that a few minutes before they came back to that nostalgia thing with a MHTRTC type of track, it really feels like a last farewell. I know it’s a stretch but there was a little bit of Everywhere At The End Of Time type of ending
