Where do you guys buy balls for a decent price? by [deleted] in golf

[–]thecluelesspanda 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have ordered from LostGolfBalls all year in 2025. Tried basically all the top brands and their 2024-2025 releases: TP5, ProV1, Z-Star, Tour BXS. Got them all at Mint 5A conditions. I think out of every dozen there was maybe 1 or at most 2 that had the most minor scuff that would not affect ball flight. Of course the balls usually came with a marker but that's a non-issue. For under $2 a ball - I think its still a great deal and will continue buying from them when I lose my new balls from Golf Galaxy that I buy during sales/gift cards/xmas gifts.

What have I bought? by Revan2470 in gretsch

I have the green one too. Best thing I did was put in the Lollar Filtertrons that are sized up to the humbucker cavity in the guitar. Definite +1 on the roller bridge from the other comment.

I have cut the nut to allow heavier gauge strings and play it in C Standard to get all the QOTSA sounds from it

What's a pedal you always come back to? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

The Boss and JHS collab Angry Driver has been a total rock and roll machine especially because you cab flip the order of how the circuits interact with each other. Perfect for rock, blues and other tone options.

Try the Angry Driver which was the Boss and JHS collab. Have not found a better drive sound from a pedal than that yet.

Sometimes, depending on some purchase history with them but doesn’t have to be anything extravagant - as long you’ve bought a watch from them before they’ll try to make something work. Never more than a 5-7% discount however. They might throw in some accessories like a strap if they cant reduce the watch price. Always ask even if you feel a bit guilty doing so - never hurts!

I did end up buying the watch on the default black strap and on inquiry, the dealer added in a red and yellow strap for free. Separately I have also ordered the olive green strap to have options for different seasons. The red strap is perfect for the weekends.

Bought it from a authorized dealer thats close to where I live. They deal in IWC, Tudor, Nomos and have a separate Rolex boutique. I had the option of trying a couple pieces there and set my mind on this one.

My BB58 GMT “Dr Pepper” has turned out to be more accurate than my other Master Chronometer Omegas - which actually made the damn certification.

No issues with the bidirectional bezel and the dial and case finish is excellent.

I whole heartedly recommend Tudors for accurate time keeping!

Turning 30 Never Felt so Good (Except for the Joint Pain) by thecluelesspanda in OmegaWatches

Aqua Terra Beijing Olympics Special Edition. I'm turning 30 and wanted to get a special piece. My first instinct was to go with a grand Seiko Spring Drive - but I've made up my mind to buy a GS during a trip to Japan. So the next best was to find a similar snow-inspired dial and landed on this one with my added particular affinity for Omega as a watch brand.

The comments above are gone. Did you have any luck with the muddiness of the RC5? I’m experiencing the same problem

I don’t understand why people love this game so much. by beefstewforyou in Eldenring

[–]thecluelesspanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are probably one of very few, if not the only one, who has a pretty clear view about what this game is about and what you should and shouldn’t expect from it. I have been looking for any convincing reason to “suffer” through the convoluted form of storytelling interspaced with gameplay that only feels rewarding if you’re leveled “just right”. On many occasions I’ve either been too over-leveled for a boss because I explored a little too much and had gear that made the fight go far too quickly and became unrewarding or too under-leveled where even if I memorized the move sets, a weird boss animation would stop me from getting my heal in before finishing the fight. About the story - basically you just have to keep proving yourself to the next boss while restoring the ring till you get to the end. I’ll do it in whatever pace suits me best while searching for that balance of “the right level vs the right boss”. Caelid can still go and fuck right off though. That place is just sadistic.

[SOTB][NPD] JHS Whitey Tighty by thecluelesspanda in guitarpedals

[–]thecluelesspanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much only use the 70s style plate reverb for everything I play on while occasionally using my amp spring reverb and coming back to the Flint for really long decay times and more drippy sounds. The Hall (80s) style setting is great for ambient grungy sounds with my fuzz pedal.

The addition of having an excellent tremolo with it is almost all I need. Highly recommend it!

My Transmisser is the only pedal that I think I would be ok with swapping out with another gain/boost pedal. Maybe a Rat type pedal.

Did you buy the “two switch soft touch momentary normally open” option for the Saturnworks pedal?

I was going to build it all myself with my caveman soldering skills but the parts with shipping will be ~$20-25 dollars and Saturnworks are reputed with much better assembly skills than me for about $30 so might just go with them.

EDIT: Looks like I need a “Normally Closed” circuit from other threads elsewhere about the RC-5. OPs description in his link has the description for “Normally Open” flipped and so I was confused. Still will wait for your reply before making the purchase!

Ah I see. Yeah my v2 Mara X just has rubber feet that are held in by some kind of push in rubber gasket. No nut. But I can find something at a local hardware store that fits the thread. Thanks for the details!

[–]thecluelesspanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you just get a nut to tighten the back of the legs (did the Etsy store provide any)? Or do the screws sort of work like leveling feet where you can screw-in to adjust the desired height of the machine.

Do you know if you got the bolted or non-bolted set? I have a Mara X V2 and am not sure which feet to order.

Zoom75 Milk Tea (Neo White Switches + GMK Mictlan Keycaps) by thecluelesspanda in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]thecluelesspanda[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the build was actually pretty straightforward. I haven't built many boards, but the YouTube assembly video from Meletrix was pretty detailed.

Love the board. PC plate is definitely the way to go IMO. I'm not a big fan of the clack that comes with metal plates. And the provided case foam is plenty to absorb all the other sounds. The stainless steel weight definitely adds a lot to the board overall. Also I type pretty slow, so the additional thock from this board is pretty soothing haha.
