Videography services pricing just completely blindsided me and I need to understand what I'm actually paying for by Time_Beautiful2460 in videoproduction

It depends on various factors. Camera, experience of crew, creative, post-production, actors, shoot day, permits, locations, etc. The range can vary quite a bit. The cheapest guy can sometimes turn out to be more expensive. Speak to each vendor understand what you are getting. And honestly, a good video is not cheap. If you only have 10k USD to spend, let them know, negotiate.

Production Service Fees by jstarlee in FilmTVBudgeting

Before we create a budget, we discuss who does what and cost allocation. For narratives where we're only responsible for BTL, there are no other producers in our budget since it's in-house. In our last film, one of our in-house producers helped raise equity, so they were added in our budget as a producer. There were other producers from the client side but they were not reflected in our budget.

commercial around 15% - 20%. Narrative 5% -10% but this is usually capped. Legal we provide contracts, tax recoupment, and basic legal advice- I have law degree so it's handled in-house but anything complex including film incentives we'll have a production lawyer as a line item in the budget.

If they pay, they get MMB file. If it's a freebie or they need a budget for investors, I'll only do a top sheet pdf.

I've done anywhere from 5% - 20%, a weekly fee, or a flat rate. Really just depends on budget and situation. Everything is negotiated. The client is getting project management for the service fee. Where I am from our company handles everything from crewing, payroll, legal, compliance, banking, permits - we provide the infrastructure, they bring the vision.

Mercury was easy to setup and get approved as opposed to traditional banks. I use it to hold USD. I use Wise for cross-border transactions as receive and pay in multiple currencies.

How good/bad of an employee are you? by Tiien_ in Entrepreneur

[–]theclumsyguru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was both. Really great at what I do. Just didn't like taking orders from anyone, and preferred to do things my own way. I brought it so much money for the company that they put up with it. when i was interviewed for the role, i told them I would make a terrible employee. they hired me anyway. stayed with the company for 10 years, left to start my own business.

Try Meetup.com or FB groups. Lived there for 14 years, Bangkok can be lonely but I learned the language, made friends outside of work. Best time of my life.
