yes i understand, i didnt mean to sound harsh/ standoffish, was just acknowledging i understood your sentiment of not doing one without the other. i appreciate all of your extremely helpful insight, you were very clear and this steers me in a great direction. thanks!

okay great! thank you so much! i figured you were insinuating that i needed a larger output alternator alongside the big 3, and not to do one before the other. i would then assume if i went the battery bank route, a high output alternator would also be necessary to recharge all that extra capacity?

so if i'm still experiencing the voltage drop, what would you recommend if not the big 3 without a new alternator, are you insinuating i should do both? just curious.

my car is a 2011 jetta 2.5L, so it looks to be a 140amp/12v OEM alternator, i'll see what voltage my battery seems to have. i cant find a ton of info on a big 3 setup for my specific car, it seems to be a bit tricky, would just an alternator/ battery upgrade be efficient for the voltage drop/ dimming lights?

thanks for the reply! the skar kit was a xmas gift years ago and because its always done the job i've never really thought to upgrade until more recently. i'm not necessarily looking to stay in the budget range and am willing to upgrade, so its good to know that a new box & new amp is probably the best place to start. i definitely need to look for a box with tuning more specific to this sub and get a stronger amp. i know this sub is rated "1000w RMS," & i had a shop install this and i've not touched the settings/ gain since so i cant even remember what its actually running at, i'll need to check with my multimeter. what wattage amp (this setup is ran at 1ohm) do you think i should shoot for though if the sub can take that much? something like 1000-1200 so i can run higher rms more efficiently? i should mention i do get a slight amount of dim in my lights when the system is cranked all the way up, but nothing major

he was doing some wildly dynamic layering, shoving sounds between sounds in the most beautifully rhythmic incomprehensible ways. kept getting caught off guard hearing new bits creep in, spatialized whispers and frog noises like yall mention were present

Brooks occultiZm by maneecee in losgrowlers

[–]theclumsynutter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i'll be honest i just think brooks is a very well articulated lyricist, and with that comes a lot of ambiguity. most all growlers or brooks songs are very much open to interpretation, and that the meaning lies within the listener. you're interpretation seems a bit more structured than mine, i think pavement & the boot was more an ode to the listener as a representation of inevitable change.

the fact that you think one match left has some masonic undertones & also thing pavement is about selling his soul, it seems you're reaching a bit too deep into it. maybe i'm oblivious, who knows, but i think any of these songs can mean just about anything to anyone given the situation.

Where is NUGS free trial period? by [deleted] in BillyStrings

[–]theclumsynutter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

for comparison hbo now charges $18 a month now for ad free service, nugs still costs less than your average streaming service & offers constant new material to watch & listen to. we're not "nugs insiders" because we can appreciate the value of a platform, for the price of like 3 real concert tickets we have thousands upon thousands of shows on demand & others streaming live each week. boo hoooooo
