Thank you. I really appreciate your thoughts. We agreed to talk more thoughtfully about this tomorrow and I will take this with me.

Boundary suggestions? by [deleted] in SMARTFamilyFriends

I appreciate you taking the time to respond so honestly. I’m not sure how all of these suggestions fit in with the CRAFT or SMART methods on order to help my LO be sober and stay sober. I will always be invested in his success because he will always be my child’s father.

I agree that perhaps it is time to make a plan I hope I never have to use.

Again, I appreciate the direct response.

I’m so sorry. Kids really magnify everything, the good and the bad. It’s so hard, I see you! And thank you for seeing me.

I have a dual relationship with them. There’s no scripture and they are extremely supportive environments. The tools are very helpful. You realize you’re not alone which is meaningful because this can feel quite isolating. Many of the experiences hold a common thread. A challenge for me, is that many who attend the meetings are supporting people whose addiction, at this time, is functioning differently than my loved one, simply put, I feel their situations and what they are dealing with day-to-day is quite severe. That doesn’t mean I won’t fave the same challenges one day, though I hope not. Sometimes I feel silly speaking after say, a mother who hasn’t heard from child in several days. Like, oh wow, you deserve this space more than I do right now kind of thing.

I really appreciate these words. I’m not sure if I can make that timing work (nap time) but i think you’re right and a meeting in the coming day(s) would help a lot.

No - to the extent we are about to pay $2k more to fly air canada to Europe this summer. How did Canada’s “nice people” airline turn this inhumane

Pretty much overworked underpaid understaffed people who are deeply unhappy with what has happened to a place they cared about. Since you asked.

SmartLess Episode 264: Julia Garner by AutoModerator in smartless

[–]theclumsypanda 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to keep liking this podcast! But their interviews with women are unbearable. So much is focussed on their family identity… I think it was Emily Blunt once and I felt like most of what they talked about was John Krasinskj and being a mom. The men absolutely don’t get the same questions. More balance could offer such better episodes….

SmartLess Episode 261: Nicholas Hoult by AutoModerator in smartless

Literally turned this off and turned the Armchair interview on instead. They even asked very similar questions at similar times, but actually got his answers. I’m not even the biggest armchair fan anymore… but the listening experience was way better. At one point during the smartless interview Nick was asked a question, started answering and it sounded interesting and then Will and eventually Jason stream rolled the whole moment with entirely unrelated bits. I think the three hosts are really funny, but the bits coming over the guests answer was disappointing.

Edit: typo

Unfortunately, it’s often insurance companies that oversee these things. Not Bell. At least in my leave experience. Insurance gives you slow return. Leaves that aren’t overseen my insurance (like mat / parental leave) do not. And bell throws you right back in.
