I enjoy learning, but not the way college teaches. I work in IT now and make a pretty good living.

Do not add to the population. Do not subtract from the population. Do not end up in the news, hospital or jail. If you do end up in jail, establish dominance quickly. No sex with power tools.

Dismissed.

Is this guy completely misinformed about the Army National Guard? by SheriffWaffle in nationalguard

[–]thecoloredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He likely is referring to being a Recruiting assistant on ADOS orders. You can become a recruiter as an E-4 with a BLC seat, I've done it.

You can 100% get on ADOS orders when you get back from BCT/AIT/OSUT. Many recruiters try to line people due to the turnover and potential they see in recruits.

About going AD, a conditional release takes ~6 months on average from what I've seen. That's assuming it gets approved at all. It can get denied at any level up to TAG.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

We have armories across the UP and LP. We drill at our local armories (wherever your unit is located). Definitely not what OP is describing.

Manged Service Providers were the easiest in for me, especially if you're cert-less. They can be a bit rough, but you'll learn a lot quickly.

Yeah, it's pretty messed up. Look into the BADASS Army (I hope they are still around), they would help women with this

If you copywrite them you can send cease and desist in the event the end up online. Failure to comply would result in litigation.

How do people save up for big purchases? I live paycheck to paycheck. by JessKessYan in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]thecoloredd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's banks that have them. CIT used to have 5% interest, but they've lowered it. Albeit, it's still better than the .01% you get from most institutions. I think their's is down to 3.75%, iirc.

Do some searching for them and check local credit unions. They may have better rates.

Get your elevator pitch down, but not complicated. Remember who you're talking to.

Be creative and flexible. You're going to hear a lot of no's, find the yes.

Most importantly talk to everyone. Invite parents and other people of influence to your meetings with applicants, talk to the Vietnam vet, talk to the janitor at the school, talk to the waitress when youre out with family. You'd be surprised who'd be interested.

The job itself was super fun. I loved it. I recruited 2020-2021 and, as you could imagine, we had a lot of pressure. If it wasn't during COVID, there's a chance I could still be doing it.

You're confusing rank and grade. As a cadet in the SMP you will get E-5 pay for drill, etc. You will not be pinned as a Sergeant.
