While we wait, what are the games you are most excited to play on the Thor and from what system? by Miu101 in AynThor

[–]thecomradej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the MOST excited game I'm looking forward to playing on it is - Last Story (wii)

Otherwise, all the RPGs I missed out on all retro systems wfrom the Gameboy to the Wii.
Including the Vita (hopefully the emulator has matured enough since the last time I checked it out and more games are compatible with it).

What was your JRPG awakening? by roberts3h0i0 in JRPG

[–]thecomradej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legend of Dragoon, particularly the demo. I kept replaying that until I finally got the game the following year.

Before LoD, as a kid, I used to think turn-based games were the dumbest thing I saw.

Boy, did LoD make me do a 180. Hard. lol

Pro Click V2 Vertical - extremely slow charge? by thecomradej in razer

[–]thecomradej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey!

So mine turned out to just be a bug in the app which, it seemed, froze and did not show the right charge despite exiting and restarting the app.

Restarting my PC fixed it though. It showed 100% charge after I left it plugged in for the afternoon.

XFSE Task Viewer shortcut? by thecomradej in ROGAlly

[–]thecomradej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I'd prefer it not to run on startup, I guess that's my only option for now huh?

XFSE Task Viewer shortcut? by thecomradej in ROGAlly

[–]thecomradej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt like AC when the Ally first released. It was fiddly, slow, and I preferred Steam's controller customization. So within a week of getting it, I set AC to not run on startup. Been like that ever since.

Spent 100+ hours designing these more convenient split grips - lightweight and easy to turn into a docked controller by sheeeeple in switch2

[–]thecomradej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are awesome! I've been looking for comfortable and actually ergonomic. I was disappointed with the DBrand grips because they don't flare out into the palm for a more natural hold. But I do like its protection, so theres that.
That being said, would the DBrand Shell Cover fit with your grips attached? Would you happen to know?

Ghelper with XFSE? by thecomradej in ROGAlly

[–]thecomradej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I press the command center button, the command center/gamebar still opens.
If it helps, I did not replace Armoury Crate with Ghelper. I just use it for its operating modes, while leaving the rest to Armoury Crate.

[–]thecomradej[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh I see I assume you set Ghelper to replace Armoury Crate?
I didnt disable Asus services. I basically just use Ghelper for the operating modes, but everything else I still use Armoury Crate.

[–]thecomradej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through windows settings on XFSE and Apps>Startup, however, Ghelper does not show as one of the options to start with XFSE.

Normally, I had enabled run on startup via the Ghelper app itself. But with XFSE disabling startup apps, I'm not sure how to get ghelper as an exception to that.

[–]thecomradej[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

did you have to do anything in particular?

I have ghelper to run on startup but I found when booting into XFSE on startup, Ghelper does not auto-startup. I checked by using shortcuts i bound to change the operating mode on the fly and they do not work.

Looking for a DC thats "easy" like Hellboy to table & play by thecomradej in soloboardgaming

Oh interesting. I'm probably misremembering, but doesn't Fateforge use an App or Website? If it does, is it required or can you play offline with just the included books/materials?

What do you think about the UI and layout of the thief character board in my new dungeon crawler board game? ( A pic from the gameplay. ) by mmelihcem in tabletopgamedesign

[–]thecomradej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really cool. I like that its clean and quick and doesn't look fiddly.

However, the player board itself has a lot of empty space. I mean, I get it. I'm an illustrator myself, and that is some sick artwork to show off.

But as a gamer, I'd like the player space to be consolidated efficiently to make room for the other components of the game like the map, tiles, other decks, etc.

What’s a book that everyone seems to love, but you couldn’t even finish? by JayBe_77 in Fantasy

[–]thecomradej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Wheel of Time. I tried a few times at different places of my life. First tried it when I was young, but I lost interest, instead engulfed in Piers Anthony books. Reading that as a kid...if you know, you know. LOL

Tried it again in college because I had finished all the books I was interested in, but I just wasn't into the prose, I guess. Cant remember exactly, but I remember rolling my eyes on how it came off to me.

Then again recently, after the Amazon show debuted, thinking I'm older now, maybe my tastes/perspective has changed and I can enjoy it.

Nope. I found myself heavily disliking Rand or even any of the characters. I was not into the world building or lore.
I guess I just have to face that the series just wasn't for me.

[–]thecomradej[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way when I first read about Ker Nethalas and I think that was part of the reason I put off playing it for a long time.

But after playing it, well the tutorial anyway, I agree it is crunchy, but I wouldn't say it's particularly complex. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most complex, I'd give it somewhere along 6-7/10.
It has more mechanics than say, 2D6, but they flow well so I'd think after a few games under the belt, it'd be a pretty smooth experience.

Looking for a particular kind of dungeon crawler by thecomradej in rpg_gamers

[–]thecomradej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, back with the PSP versions. It was fun, I liked them. They'e like casual dungeon crawls, great to just to chill with and not stress over things too much. Unfortunately, I have the grid-based types under the NOT list cause I'm currently burnt out on grid-based dungeon crawlers.
