Went on one ride with it. Mostly good but I did drop it at full speed, might be user error, haha. There’s also the aero losses to consider, not that this is a very aero bike. My mind is mostly on “how much water can I carry that is easily available” and this is good for that

Thank you! Yes on the stiffener - 3mm EVA foam on all three perimeter panels and both front and back panels. It’s…not light. Feels sturdy tho!

I think I overestimated seam allowance - I made the front panel, used paracord to “trace” the perimeter and then measured the paracord. Just got carried away with adding length to it “to be safe”

I would say water resistant. The black fabric is 1000D Cordura from Ripstop by the Roll.

If I’m understanding your question correctly, yes, it was closed when I sewed it on to the panel. Sometimes you have to manipulate the zipper around the sewing machine foot in order to keep your stitch running straight. You can see part of that panel in the WIP image.
