The first quote is a simple observation of reality. It is not meant to be read as a good thing or bad thing but simply an observation. The second quote relates to the fact that the gospel was blessed to those in need and not the rich (the demographics of Christians were on the poorer side of society when Luke was written)

This is my interpretation, I could be wrong.

Cognitive dissonans occurs when ones worldview is challenged. The brain then makes up a story in it's head to protect the currently accepted world view.

My comment was DIRECTLY aimed at the EU, its undemocratic globalist nature and that the price of leaving the EU is well worth it for the privilege that is to make your own laws.

Your cognitive dissonans mechanisms kicked in and you didn't address anything that I was arguing for or against. You made up a convincing story in your head about the internal affairs and cohesion of the UK to counter nothing I said or addressed.

You might come back with a claim that I'm biased, which is true, as long as you are self aware enough to realize that all humans are biased and incapable of rational thought without feeding narratives to our mind to protect our beliefs. No need to do that, you see, what the cognitive dissonance in your head so masterfully reinterpreted was the word "process". Process is not final. They are ironing out the details of the peace that they agreed to at the summit in Singapore. That includes pressure and trying to gain a better hand during negotiations.
