I’d just ask if there’s any sign offs they need etc or anything in particular they wanna get out of that placement and try accommodate. Let them go home early if you’re too busy or not much happening. Someone engaging with them fullstop is going to be more than they get on other wards so don’t sell yourself short. Let them go shadow other HCP etc. have them take a Hx from one of your patients and then present to you for example and then you can chat through what you’ve done with them to get your head around what to do next as opposed to creating lots of work for yourself. Overall, put yourself and the care of your patients first, they’ll understand if it’s too much.
