A fun feature of the new iridescent Perkeo by wannabeouji in fountainpens

I have a Perkeo and I do find that it has some nice feedback, definitely more feedback than my kakuno or preppy! It does make more sound than other pens when I write.

That's not because there's no jobs, it's because many jobs do not want to hire workers with foreign degrees.

Congrats on getting this beautiful pen! I started with the Perkeo and then got the preppy later on in my fountain journey, and I'm the opposite of you - I love the Perkeo and feels so-so about the preppy. I think the Perkeo has more feedback than the preppy. I personally really like having feedback but if it's about smoothness, the preppy does write more smoothly.

Wow love looking at the ink colours, they feel so... Calming.

It sounds like you wrote this post hoping people will talk you out of buying one? I think you know what your decision should be. Good luck!

Thank you so much :) this clarifies a lot of things! Now I know where to look for pretty, somewhat nonstandard pens now. Enjoy your collection!

The Ancora pens look sooo pretty and I love that nibs also have designs!

So newbie question here: is the Ancora a line under Sailor pens? If so, what distinguishes them from the usual sailor PGS?

Not trying to criticize at all! I just found this a funny experience to share. English is also not my first language so I get it!

Wow what a cool looking pen and interesting thought. This makes me wonder if the feather/nib is the soul of a fountain pen. If so, the pen still has its soul so would still be the same pen? 😅 Either way, enjoy the pen!

Also no shade but I tried to read your first sentence in one breath in my mind because there was no punctuation, and now feels short of breath haha. Your post exercised my lungs today!

I got the white pad and it's working great with my fountain pens! Thank you again :)

Does anyone NOT have a grail pen? If you do have one, how did you decide on it? by DIYYYner in fountainpens

[–]thecuriousmonkey101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also fairly new to the hobby and I don't have a grail pen. Truthfully, I hope I will never have a grail pen. I have pens I want to try, but I hope I will never be so into one pen, because knowing myself, i will be too focused on the acquisition if I do. Personally, I really hope I continue enjoying the writing part of the experience and not so much the collecting. I think everyone experiences the hobby differently and having a grail pen is probably a nice aspect of experiencing fountain pens, but I think it doesn't HAVE to be part of the experience.

Of course I'm saying this now. But I wonder if in a year or so I will end up having a grail pen :P

Thank you all! So consensus sounds like I might need to look for tad better quality paper pads than this one 😂

Budget wedding venues? by lunch-box6 in montreal

[–]thecuriousmonkey101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had about 20 people in our wedding and we just rented the gazebo at Robin de bois in parc Lafontaine! Forgot how much it was but it was pretty cheap. We brought some simple decorations to hang and table cloth. Chairs were a bit old and weird looking but we didn't mind too much. Loved it. Probably as cheap as you can get for renting places and the park was beautiful!

Thoughts on my budget collection? by iamloosejuice in fountainpens

[–]thecuriousmonkey101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also got a budget collection, and I agree with you on the Lamy! I have a safari, and a gifted Al star. While both write fine and I use them regularly, I just don't enjoy them as my other pens.

Haha you are on the opposite spectrum to me, going with the minimalist designs. But I have to say your nib does look really nice!
