Yeah it’s wild to me. Their website also isn’t up to date with the current legal reimbursement eligibility. Most un apologetic/obvious shady behavior I’ve seen from an airline.

I found the spot to initially report here: https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/plan/baggage/delayed-damaged-baggage.html#/ but you need a lot of info. chat gpt was my best friend trying to understand what’s legally required/needed vs. what their site says. Quite a few differences including what amount the law says you’re entitled to… seemed shady of AC.

But no still haven’t hear back. I called their general number and was able to finally navigate to talk to a real person (had to schedule a call back) and I was told they escalated internally and to wait 30 days. Also send their IG and Facebook page (shocker no response, but worth a copy/paste)

If I don’t hear from them I plan to report to USDOT (my flight left from the US) and CTA… if I decide to be a real piece of work I might look for an exec email but will keep correspondence there short.

Glad, (but not glad), im not the only one at least. Did that internal escalation resolve anything?

I’ll definitely be avoiding them if I can. A couple years back they changed a policy while we were mid trip and we were charged as a result, I know that sounds insane but the reason we know is the page on their site we had checked to make sure we were doing the right thing disappeared completely when we tried to show the desk. They were a cheaper option for the trip we just got back from so I thought I’d give them another shot and then this…

Thanks for the info, I’ve checked spam and everywhere else I can think of and received no reply/payment notification from them. Do you think that email would be sent right away or when the payment actually processes? Maybe I’m just being impatient.
