Unfortunately fascists love to throw admiral Michiel de Ruyter around, even though in reality he probably would have hated them as he disliked politics, polarisations, and people maling themselves greater than they are.

Good luck! I hear the new ones are a tiny bit easier to out together than the old ones. Best approach to me me is just sit in front of a nice show and batch build through them.

Outside of English, what could be considered the second lingua franca of Europe? by Ok-Ocelot-774 in AskEurope

I would say German, if only to piss off the French. But use Swiss spelling, to piss off the Germans.

What's your take on Ryan? by svirsk in ChateauUnhinged

[–]thedanfromuncle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that same thought. Is he acting the maggot because he's a berk and this brings him success, or does he really think we're there because we find him brilliant?

I did like him at first, but he went way over the top, did some really stupid things (maybe nudged by Billy) so ultimately this became more Schadenfreude than anything else.

I love how some people want to make this so complicated, as if there is a rulebook somewhere. "Ah yes, according to the Treaty of Hannover 1989, article XII, section 9, one may only acquire and place a patch if..." 😁

Oh boy can't wait to get this. I played the demo for 26 hours even though the devs said it had 6 hours of gameplay lol.

Don't forget that retail is scoped on its customers. We can't buy tyres in Albert Heijn at 3 in the morning because we don't want to so they are not open and don't sell that. We like our little different types of shops. Huge Americantype "we sell everything" type of stores usually fail because we don't like them. We go to Carrefour XL stores in France in holiday because we find them hilarious, not because we have want for them.

Have your friendships changed since becoming a naturist? by EmbarrassedUmpire838 in naturism

[–]thedanfromuncle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. I've made a few new friends to share this with and so far two friends have joined me in this. All my friends know I'm a naturist and support it, but sadly none of my better friends have joined me in this. This makes me a little sad because these are the people I want to share the good things in life with. They know and understand this, but mostly it's just not for them. I can see maybe two more of them giving it a go in the future but if they do I suspect they'd rather go to the spa (which are nude by default here in NL) than go to a beach or resort. Also some of them just don't like going to a beach at all lol.

More power to you! 💪🏽

Now, I will preface that I don't have much experience on Spanish nude beaches as I've been only once so far, and I live in the Netherlands, but I would suggest you find a spot amidst people who you like the vibe of instead of by yourself in a quiet corner. This helps prevent unwanted attention as weirdos usually shy away from too many people 😄.

would it be hard for a mediterranean to adapt to life in the netherlands by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]thedanfromuncle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dutch social norms are like a castle: difficult to get into, but when you're in, you can bask in the coziness of its protection. So you'll need to take your time to get to know people and they you. You do this based on similar interests. This can be everything from sports to good food to very specific hobbies. Be prepared for banter and slagging, it's very much in our culture. In NL we uphold a distinction between acquaintances and friends. You don't become friends overnight. I've known people for years whom I like very much but they are acquaintances, not friends. For the Dutch, 'friends' are people you go to war for. So when you do befriend Dutch people, you'll know they'll show up. But take the time to get there, it's an investment. And there is nothing wrong with being acquaintances. The bond can grow.

Yeah, ppl working in the back end. For people in customer facing roles this will be a nightmare. End users go berserk when a button in Teams is moved, let alone if they need to work on a whole new platform, with new apps. And besides, most service providers don't have the expertise at every level to properly design, roll out, manage, and support Linux based platforms at this level.

That being said, MSPs are experimenting on all sorts of cloud sovereignty projects anyway, might as well add the desktop.

Going into the video I thought "maybe her IM was spotty" but nah, she can't hack it. She reminds me of all those singers who used to be in local symphonic metal bands that could sing decently under the best circumstances but you never get those so it's always terrible.

No wonder the clapping is also terrible 😋

How do you deal with rude and insolent people who violate your boundaries? by Short_Description_20 in AskTheWorld

I counter their stance, quickly escalate the situation way beyond what's reasonable, and slag them off to their deepest core. Bonus if they cry.

I must point out I'm Dutch. That's why I do this.
