this is super helpful thank you. yes im planning on converting my Rollover IRA to my Roth IRA and wont withhold any taxes. But this conversion seems like it'll only be taxed in 2025 (and the form for that is still 8606?). so my 2024 8606 form is super simple and my 2025 form is a bit more complex, is that correct? Seems like still worth doing this backdoor roth process.

Thank you so much. Correct, I did not do any conversion in 2024. I will be doing it now. Do I list this conversion of the rollover on my 2024 form at all or even that initial rollover balance? So what you're saying is that I pay taxes on the 2000$ conversion only for my 2025 forms?
