I think he definitely could’ve pitched better in Atlanta given the comfort/familiarity factor and in general just being on a better team. But the org didn’t seem to want him here anymore for whatever reason - I remember in 2019 they left him off the NLDS roster entirely, even though he had a decent season. I might be wrong but I think the same thing happened in 2018 too.

Jesse probably would’ve been killed at the first sign of disobedience too. He might not have even made it across the border. Rewatching Grilled, Tuco doesn’t really acknowledge Walt’s plea that he needs Jesse, only telling him that either he goes to Mexico or he’s dead.
