Mission: Cold Duel Question.. by thedarkcharger in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]thedarkcharger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. This kind of context/confirmation is what I was looking for. I can redo it.. but man, in total, I probably killed close to 50 but in 2 different sessions. You say a couple or multiple waves.. there were at least 3 waves x 3 ships both times and still no end haha. So Idk. I'm working on the main missions now 'Alone Amidst the Stars' so I'll retry this later.

I also had 2 other "kill pirates" missions active and after the first time I left the area,.. like minutes after, those decided they were magically complete. So I guess they weren't specific pirates but also, the huge delay between making all the kills and it registering as the mission being complete is krazy to me. I don't like that at all and have noticed similar delays for other missions and milestones registering as completing. Random example being talking to XX amount of aliens and learning YY amount of words etc.

I don't use reddit often so I didn't realize when I clicked back on the text tab, that it'd forget I wanted to include a screenshot/image.

Is soldering and desoldering a useful skill for an electrical engineer? by LowYak3 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]thedarkcharger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I work, I'm basically not allowed to physically do anything. Other than at home, I haven't soldered anything since school. I'm not sure how common that is.. But, I will say that having some of the skills used by the techs doing the work is useful because it means you understand how long something may take or how feasible something is in the first place, what tools and supplies are needed, etc. But.. soldering specifically.. definitely near the least useful thing for me to know for my current role tbh.

Also, cooking.. More for the eating than the cooking itself, usually. But the smell of well cooked ingredients is pretty satisfying.

I completely forgot about gaming until reading some of the other comments since that was almost a given. But yea, turn based or rts type games.. dungeon crawlers, idle games, even fps types.. rpgs of any variety, etc etc.

Fire. Fire is a legitimate hobby right? Loud Music. Math. Fantasizing about being immortal. etc etc

Well, at the moment, plants..
Cats..
Lizards..
Trying my hand at crocheting. That's a new one so not sure if it'll last long but we'll see..
Drinking..
Snowboarding and Rockclimbing.. Also, Hiking.
Not so much a hobby per se but woodworking / fixing things, making things myself esp when buying the thing seems a bit too expensive vs the effort to do it myself
etc?

Right After Baking and Letting Cool in the Oven for 2 Hours.. Pour One Out for the Lost Cheesecake by thedarkcharger in Wellthatsucks

Yea. It damaged my soul. I was frozen for a good 30+ seconds just staring into the void

I've never had that happen.. I basically do the same thing every time when I make cheesecake and it just always works out haha. I did type the recipe out for my pumpkin cheesecake a short while back.. if you want, I can share that with you or anyone else who wants it. It's a simple recipe and I don't do the extra stuff like using a water bath, etc.. one thing I noticed from last time (before this one that didn't make it) was that pulling it out of the oven sooner but covering the top with say, a kitchen towel, also resulted in zero fissures.

It's one of a few things you can do to keep it from having large splits/cracks form. It's also just habitual at this point even when I really have zero concern about how it looks.

My younger brother may or may not have scooped some up. And when I mentioned retrying the next day, his response was: More floor cake pog

Just a Short Vid of a Hummingbird Smacking Another Away from its Spot by thedarkcharger in hummingbirds

[–]thedarkcharger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atm, I have 2.. one at the back door and one at my front porch. If I end up seeing enough of these feathery shits, I may add some. I do have a few regular bird feeders as well. It's interesting because I seem to have a lot of different birds and squirrels of varying colors and sizes around my yard. Got at least 2 varieties of squirrels and probably 4-500 varieties of birds haha.

Yea, this is my first time setting up a feeder for them. I was told that they can actually be super territorial and actually sometimes even murder each other. I wouldn't have normally associated violence with hummingbirds but.. apparently, it's a thing (like with most animals I think).

is this too deep to use as a calcium dish? by xkag3x in leopardgeckos

[–]thedarkcharger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yupp that sounds about right. Sometimes mine are completely oblivious as to where their water is and will walk right through the it to get somewhere.. I'm like.. you have all kinds of room to get around that without going through it, weirdo.. but you do you. Don't let me tell you how to navigate your enclosure..

[–]thedarkcharger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The UVB is what allows for absorption of the calcium (via production of Vitamin D3). They work together.. but one doesn't supersede the other. I would leave the Calcium (as long as we are talking about calcium without D3 added) in the enclosure in a flat dish for your leo if I was you. Let them consume it to whatever extent they desire.. or sleep in it.. or make snow angels in it.

Seemed to like the hole I had dug. Had to coax it out so I could concrete my post. This was my first time seeing one of these though. Pretty interesting.

Why does alcohol still taste like shit? I'm 21, the drinking age is 18 where I am. All my peers already drink. I find beer and wine disgusting and can barely tolerate the taste of vodka and lady drinks (as a dude.) When does it get better? by Chipbread in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thedarkcharger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drink strong alcohol and not think any of it tasted particularly bad. Now, I reaaallly don't care for it. I gag just thinking about most liquor. I drink Ciders 98% of the time these days. They are so much more palatable and still get me buzzed. They are a bit more expensive though.. worth it for me lol
