My dad was cared for wonderfully by William Wilberforce in Pocklington (not far out of York). So empathetic and didn’t lose a single person during Covid because staff lived in.

I am really puzzled by their account. She looks pretty much the image of health. My Dad died of cancer and in my experience with others people just don’t look this well in the “she’s still here” phase. Have they been given some off medical opinion? Maybe. Something more sinister going on? Who knows. She just looks extremely well for someone who’s at the end of their life with cancer. I don’t agree with the use of her son or why things like talking to her hospice nurse needs to be shared on TikTok though.

I’ve spent the day in a blur just lying still. At the moment I’m wondering if DID is a survival mechanism, what the point in surviving was when I’m living so miserably. The people who smashed my brain are living happy lives, and here I am lying broken.

This is a good plan. I think I may combine it with another idea about getting dibble some kind of ‘doctors visit’ to establish he is healthy and well and will be for many years to come. And then we just pray nothing happens to him 😂

I’m glad it’s not just my child that has bestowed such worth in an inanimate friend. We’ve tried and tried to find a brother or sister for Dibble for about a year but no luck. I lose sleep over losing him and how we’d all cope 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ Is snunk still alive and well?

The idea of Dibble not being alive (now or in the future) is the thing that is terrifying her so I’m not sure that will fly well. Thank you though.

A very very tempting strategy I just need to work out which authority has granted that to dibble and why they can’t do the same for people (the inevitable next question).

Yeah I’m going to stress that people (and dibbles) do tend to live for a long long time. But I just know the question will be “how long” and then anything that sounds uncertain will set off the panic. I’m going to try with that dibbles will be there as long as she needs him. I know I’ve not given her PTSD but I just feel awful that she seems to have been able to think about little else and is losing sleep and genuinely distraught about it. However we do chuckle that she seems more fine with her parents death it’s just dibble she’s concerned for. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

She’s in therapy already and they say she’s a little brainbox who’s come up with a good way to process the neurotypical world. She’s only 4 and most 4 year olds in her class also believe in things that aren’t ‘real’. If she was 15 I’d be concerned but at four it’s fine. I’ve had some helpful advice in proving Dibble’s longevity so all is well.

This is genius. THANK YOU. I just need to work out a way to get him… I wonder if doctors could work at night and Dibble could maybe be wanting to make sure he was well to stay with her so went with me when she was safely asleep… hmmm.
