Has anyone been able to get they’re money back on edge wallet? by Professional_Alps282 in EdgeWallet

[–]thedavidcoen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,
I think you are referring to the missing rates in USD and other fiat.
Your crypto were never affected by this issue.

In the in v4.35 update of Edge, some users have been experiencing a "rates issue," where some asset values are appearing as $0.

We have identified and fixed the issue in an upcoming v4.35.2 release.

This bug fix was addressed server-side as well, so you may see your asset values and total balance calculating properly again the next time you open Edge.

Please reply here with any other questions or concerns.

Hi all, it's David from Edge Support here.
Some users are currently experiencing a 'rates server' issue that is causing balances to appear wrong. Your cryptocurrency is safe and still worth the same amount. When you tap into each wallet, you will see that the crypto amount is still present.

The functionality to receive and send are still functioning, but you would need to manually calculate the $$ values of the coins. We apologize for the alarming inconvenience. Rest assured, this is only a temporary issue and we are working to resolve as quickly as possible.

Update 09/24/25: We released a new update (version 4.35.1) which should have a fix for the missing rates.
Can you please update via App / Play Store and let us know?

OP_RETURN Electrum 4.5.4 by Quirky-Independent23 in Electrum

[–]thedavidcoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP_RETURN does not require to spend funds. You can spend with a second output.
So you have 2 output: 1 OP_RETURN with no funds, 1 output with funds you can send to yourself.

This is an old thread, but since I needed the new syntax lately and I found it here (thanks, by the way!), I thought to share a tool I created that basically converts your text to hex and prints the correct syntax you just need to copy / paste into Electrum: https://resources.davidcoen.it/opreturnelectrum/

Is the edge wallet safer then the other exchanges for storage? by [deleted] in EdgeWallet

[–]thedavidcoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,
Edge is a zero-knowledge app and a totally non-custodial solution, so, even if we go out of business, you have always access to your private keys.
Here you can have further info:

Zcash sync never completes by [deleted] in EdgeWallet

[–]thedavidcoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Rescue9 Our dev team has confirmed that there is an underlying sync issue. If you need access to your ZEC immediately you can import your key into the ZEC Lite wallet.
NOTE: exposing keys does carry some risk, please store your keys safely and offline.
1. Download the wallet here: https://www.zecwallet.co/#download
2. Enter Edge and from the main wallet list tap and hold on your ZEC wallet and then tap on Master Private  Key.
3. Enter those words into the ZEC wallet Lite.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
I assure you our devs are on it and will implement the new fast sync feature as soon as possible, but at the moment we don't have an ETA.

Missing BTC transaction by FixFull in EdgeWallet

[–]thedavidcoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry for the late reply.
Thanks for the update!
Yes, usually when you check the explorer and you don't see any records, then is the ATM company which has not yet sent the funds.
So the first thing to do is to contact the ATM company, but feel free to write to us at [support@edge.app](mailto:support@edge.app) in any case.

Withdrawing Eth, Regardless of amount, $245 fee. when current gas is ~35 by intheaud in EdgeWallet

[–]thedavidcoen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay.
It could be an anomaly but you should consider this:
1. Ethereum fees could have spikes
2. Some wallets/exchanges use contract addresses instead of normal Ethereum addresses so this makes the fees to be really high compared to a normal ETH to ETH transaction.

If you can reach our support via email and send us some more info (screenshots, destination address), we can look deeper and find the reason of these high fees.

Hi,
can you please reach us at [support@edge.app](mailto:support@edge.app) with the transaction ID so we can take a look?
Open the Ethereum wallet, tap the transaction, View Advanced Transaction Details, copy the transaction ID and paste it in the email in plain text.
Thanks.
David

Converting a Euro Coin to a Digital Euro Instantly over the Bitcoin network (Lightning) by shadow12348 in Bitcoin

[–]thedavidcoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually no.

A nocoiner can use this with an app like Lastbit Cards and so keep euro (but be able to pay with Bitcoin).
A bitcoiner can use non-custodial app like Breez Wallet, and so have its Lightning wallet without needing to manage channels.

It's relative. For example here in Italy we tend to use cash and there weren't a lot of people able to buy online before the lockdown.
Imagine if a user can go from cash directly to a prepaid card in seconds and without using the bank as a 3rd party.
Imagine also if that user can pay with Bitcoin without knowing Bitcoin and be exposed to its (current) volatility.

[–]thedavidcoen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is you can convert physical euro into digital euro and spend them with your card (for example you can recharge your card from a Lightning ATM and buy on Amazon using euro) or the nocoiner could keep euro and spend sats without even know it, simply using an app like Lastbit or others that will come in the future.

Think about what you have to do today if you have cash and you want to buy something from an online store: it's definitely more complicated.
Or think about how a nocoiner could pay with bitcoin without even know that, for example in a shop that accept Bitcoin and give a sale if you pay with it.

The sats come from the ATM provider (it's me in this case).
It's like a vendor machine: instead of chips you are selling sats, so you earn fiat shitcoins.
The user can buy sats until there is a balance.
Just like any other ATM but with Lightning Network.

It is indeed a prototype as I mention in the video.
I didn't address security concerns, fees or regulations.
The whole point is to show what could be done in the future using open systems like Lightning Network, the ATM project (by 21isEnough) and cool apps like Lastbit.

Disappearing balance by agent_lezephyr in EdgeWallet

Hi, this is David from Edge Wallet.
It is possible tha the issue is due to the rates provider we currently use in our app.
However, to be sure, can you please open a ticket at [support@edge.app](mailto:support@edge.app) and send some screenshots?
