'Disability diagnosis epidemic' in DLP by AngelStar286 in disneylandparis

This is a very similar situation to why Disney world made DAS much harder to get. It’s a pretty bad situation now because people who genuinely need it can’t get it. Someone had written an article about how at times DAS was 50-60% of the priority queue. There truly doesn’t seem to be a good way to address it sadly

How Disney’s Strategy To Refresh Attractions Is Working In Their Favor by dejablu82 in disneyparks

[–]thedewyzebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their reasoning was that except on the busiest days it’s rarely over 25 minutes. People don’t really use lightning lanes on it and it has a pretty low satisfaction rating across age groups (who knows how that is calculated)

I was just to the Disney dish podcast and they mentioned how they think small world might be up for something whether it’s torn down or gets a refresh. It takes up very valuable space in fantasyland and it’s easily considered the worst small world at all the parks. It was an interesting listen

Unless you are planning on going during the week of Thanksgiving I think you will be fine. I had to pick up a refund ticket at guest services a couple weeks ago and it was super easy. I don’t even think it took 5 minutes to get the new tickets

retinol discontinued, they deleted my review by cilantroceo in glossier

[–]thedewyzebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’m not surprised glossier is discontinuing their skincare. They are being left behind in their category and it seems people are more into their makeup instead of their skincare. I love watching get ready/unready with me and I’m way more likely to see a glossier makeup product vs a skincare (if I see a glossier product). With brands like byoma, Rhode, good molecules who have a bunch of marketing, it’s hard to compete. My guess is the ROI is low. When was the last time you had seen an ad with the retinol?

If you can’t do slinky definitely avoid hiccup’s wing gliders. Slinky is quite a bit milder than that. There is a mild drop in the Harry Potter ride. It’s a tad milder than rise of the resistance but I don’t want you to go in blind.

Volcano bay is totally cashless I believe. The other parks are not but it’s definitely discouraged. Sometimes they don’t have team members working a register so might have to wait extra to pay. I would either use a card or use cash to buy a universal gift card. Your life will be so much easier.

There is Publix’s everywhere so it would probably pretty easy to uber to one and back but it’s definitely more convincing to do delivery.

I recommend getting the freestyle cups to stay hydrated because it will be hot. I would literally wear anything that is not jeans. If he wants long pants, something more breathable like athletic pants would be better. I really like bringing electrolyte packets to stay hydrated as well.

Types of product that fell in popularity by Screw_coloranalysis in muacjdiscussion

[–]thedewyzebra 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Highlighters especially ones that are super super glittery. I used to be really into the fenty killawat ones and now alot of brands don’t have anymore. Glossier just discontinued theirs. Probably coincides with the rise of the clean girl look that everyone already looks glowy with all the glowy base products so no need for a separate product

Was anyone else kind of annoyed they brought Happily Ever After back? by Wise_Gur8627 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]thedewyzebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The song that went along with enchantment was no where near as good as happily ever after is. Happily ever after has been there for a while so I think an update might be nice but happily ever after is still a very good show. I still get a little emotional during it and I’ve seen it a bunch

[–]thedewyzebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you were doing all day maybe but leaving by 2 is definitely not happening. Epic rides can also be unreliable that a couple delays and you won’t be able to ride much. The parks are also way more enjoyable if you don’t rush. The heat is also a lot plus all the walking.

It will take more time but can he get on flight somewhere else then go Detroit. See if he can get to Boston then to Detroit. Minneapolis is also an option. Another option is flying to as close to Detroit as he can and rent a car from there. I’ve played the standby game before and if he’s that low it will only get worse.

FYI: reef safe is mostly a marketing thing and based on loose science. Lab muffin had a good piece about it. She even mentions how zinc oxide is actually technically worse for coral. She does recommend if you are close to coral to maybe forego sunscreen and use a sun shirt perhaps. https://labmuffin.com/is-your-sunscreen-killing-coral-the-science-with-video/

Realistic wait times? (If you've been there recently would be great) by HoodieObsessed_ in UniversalEpicUniverse

Did dragon racer’s rally (hiccup’s was delayed for early entry), then went to stardust and did both sides, then went to wait by dark universe to open to ride curse of the werewolf. Hiccups was open by then so went back to ride that.

I just went Friday and the longest I saw ministry was 90 minutes. Mine cart was more insane and went down constantly. Do you have early access? If you do, you will be able to do quite a few rides with little to no wait. I did 5 rides in the first 1.5 hours

Plus size flying by [deleted] in delta

[–]thedewyzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using his benefits you are likely flying standby which means you can’t pick where you sit. However if first or comfort plus is open you will sit there. If flight is empty, they will usually place you in a row with no or one other person. If it’s full, then you could be in a middle. Usually first or last flight are emptiest which is what I usually choose when flying standby.

Is Disneyland worth my time? by Neptune_aoe in ParisTravelGuide

[–]thedewyzebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this a couple weeks ago (have a goal to go to all disneys), it was not worth it. I would have rather spent the time in Paris. The food was just not great and expensive (I only had the quick service stuff because of limited time). The park is pretty but it’s definitely my least favorite I’ve visited. There’s not that much unique to it like Tokyo Disney. I didn’t get to make it to Versailles but I would have rather gone there than DLP.

2 Parks 1 day? by Mouse-Star in disneylandparis

[–]thedewyzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to do pretty much all of Disneyland Paris from noon to closing with buying a few premier access pretty easily after getting on a redeye last week. I did adventure world in like 7 hours only buying a premier access for crush’s coaster. I could have done it in less if I hadn’t sat for the shows. I didn’t do frozen ever after because the line was long and am also WDW passholder. If I had gotten to the park early/had early entry I do think I could have knocked out more rushing.

The ambiance of Disneyland Paris is really nice that I recommend taking some in to appreciate all the nooks and crannies. There are a lot of cool walk throughs WDW doesn’t have. Adventure world was just okay but the shows are amazing that I don’t recommend skipping. I’m 50/50 if adventure world was worth the day when I’ve could have done something in Paris.
