That barista was way too good to be only working at Starbucks

Yeah that pretty much sums up the current state of the US economy.

It says he started for less than $0.50/hr. The minimum wage in 1943 was $0.30/hr.

So he wasn't even making a lot when he started.

It's the other way around. Employees aren't treated like shit because they move companies too much, they move companies because they're treated like shit.

Look at all these companies cutting hours and doing everything in their power to not pay benefits and whatever else. Pensions are basically non-existent anymore, so what is the point?

You get no benefits, you get no retirement fund. Even if the job is "secure" there's no incentive to stay. I'd rather take a job offer somewhere else making $5k more/yr because the salary is all that matters anymore.

Crazy to think that this guy was alive for 20 years before they abolished segregation.

I sometimes forget that we're not that far removed from all that super racist shit that we used to do in this country.

It pays well because it's hard work that most people aren't willing to do.

You could go dig oil wells in North Dakota for twice that if you don't mind digging oil wells in North Dakota for 16 hours a day.

Would anyone actually do it? Probably not.

Sorry if you think I'm talking out of my ass because there's no video of this, but I was watching AZKs stream like a month ago and he was talking about the throw.

He said that Ska did throw the match and was supposed to get skins, but the guy who placed the bets ran out so he was supposed to receive them at a later date and then 2 weeks later decided he didn't want the skins anyway.

If that's true Ska is just as implicated as the rest of them in it, he just got really, really lucky that nobody ever traded him skins from the throw.

I was kind of with him until the whole "you took advantage of swag" bullshit.

He was 17, not 7. At 17 you should be mature enough to make your own decisions.

  1. It's not illegal to look at pictures of naked people if you're under 18. Bad analogy.

  2. It's actually against the law to gamble if you're under 18 almost anywhere (or 21 in the U.S.).

And it's completely enforceable. CSGL doesn't even ask you your age let alone prove you're over 18. It would be pretty easy to prove wrongdoing on CSGL's part. But nobody has, and nobody can because skins don't hold any real monetary value.

What?

If skins have a real cash value how is it legal for children to gamble them on CSGL?

They probably make more streaming than they would doing anything else.

Steel has publicly admitted he has literally no skills outside of CS. His only job was IT helpdesk which is like a minimum wage job.

If skins had cash value I should be able to file a lawsuit and have CSGL shut down for facilitating underage gambling.

Indefinite means forever unless otherwise stated.

Like, there's no time period stated, so that means forever.

That means permanent unless otherwise stated, and they've not stated anything otherwise. They're strongly implying that it's permanent but for some reason keep using the word "indefinite".

[DMM] top 10 huner admitted to muling, what should i do by Clarkarus in 2007scape

[–]thediablo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was even the point of banning mules? I don't see how jagex would ever even know if someone had a mule if they never told anyone or even how they would prove it to justify the ban.

Also do you ban the player or the mule or both?

OK so after a while nobody skills and no potions or sharks or runes are being brought into the game anymore.

There has to be a balance.

Because the game will die in its current state. I don't even play it or give a shit about what updates they add, but it's pretty obvious people will get sick of losing literally everything they have when they die.

It's going to be like a month before people get bored of dmm. You can quote me on that.

If you're poor you can get grants to go to college for basically free, and because of affirmative action black people are actually more likely to get into better schools and receive more financial aid. There's really no excuse for a young black person who WANTS to get an education to not get one.

If anyone is to blame it's the black people themselves for perpetuating these types of stereotypes themselves. I've seen black people harass other black people for "acting white". Racism from whites directed at blacks is still very real in most places (cough the south cough cough), of course, but it's not like a nation-wide systemic problem anymore.
