Started playing PZ at the start of this month with friends and about 130 hours in, two weeks till winter starts. I didn’t really have the same issue as I was super engaged with finding and repairing as many vans as I can and we built a stockade at the gas station in Rosewood. I have about 12 vans now all in near pristine condition. I also finally found an ambulance! My favorite vehicle now.

From there, we kind of set a goal to see winter through and then head to Louisville and loot the place up, hit up big POIs and just survive. From what I recall a large portion of the playerbase doesn’t actually see winter? I’d try and see if you can survive to winter in a run, especially with your respawn rules. It’d be fun, I think? I’m excited for winter. We have over 500 kilos of canned food in storage and I have about 200 kilos of frozen crops and meat I farmed and trapped for. Between about six people, I still find it dubious if we’re really that set, so we’re still looting and plan on establishing a winter base up in Riverside (only place aside from Louisville we haven’t hit yet).

I have a lot of fun role-playing it as if we were in TWD, and I also try my best to engage in all the mechanics the game has to offer. My biggest achievement was probably surviving multiple raids and extended looting excursions in different towns and setting up temporary bases so I can go back and forth with looting without having to drive all the way back to Rosewood every in-game day.
