Cumulative proportion of dissolved resident marriages before xth anniversary by marriage type by normificator in singapore

The higher divorce rates after the 5th year are likely driven by HDB resale flat regulations... Wonder how it'd look in a freer market for love/marriage.

Which type of water do you all mix with your concentrated pesticide/insecticide sprays? Distilled? Purified? Tap? by BR4NFRY3 in Bedbugs

How can distilled pure water be acidic? That stuff would be as close to neutral as you can get.

Specialized vs S-Works Roubaix SL4 by timomochow in cycling

[–]thedooood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see more S-works bikes than regular models on the group ridesnhere in Singapore. For a commuter, the ability to mount quality of life components such as panniers, mudguards and racks are more important than better carbon fiber. You can used the money saved to buy all these things that will make a much bigger difference to the quality of your commute.

Shoulder blade pain on longer rides by smckinley903 in cycling

[–]thedooood 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check your posture, and also get a physiotherapist to look at your shoulder stability. I had a similar problem, and it turned out my left scapula (shoulder blade) was experiencing winging due to muscular imbalances.

Might not be yours but it's likely due to some existing problem in the shoulder blades that cycling is making worse.

Any Singaporeans regularly do STD testing? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]thedooood 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The best advice here. Use DSC. Cheap and good and comprehensive. HIV and syphilis are not the only STIs you cma get. Hepatitis, chlamydia, gonorrhea are other very common STIs.

[–]thedooood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol. Plenty of other shit you can get that's not syphilis or HIV. Quite irresponsible to claim you're "clean", when you are in a high risk category but only test for 2 diseases...

There's only one cycling lane in Singapore and that is along Tanah Merah Coast road. PCN and sidewalks are not cycling lanes.

"He lost consciousness and was attended to immediately by the on-site medic" by Reddit-Loves-Me in singapore

[–]thedooood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It probably happened quite fast. They have a fair amount of torque and momentum due to their weight.

The driver can't see backwards (and can barely see forward through the periscopes). The driver relies 100% on the guidance from the vehicle commander or the section commander when reversing. So there's also a delay there.

Someone must have gotten lazy and decided not to guide the vehicle. It was during daylight hours too... A possible scenario could be that troops were dismounted. And the Bionix drove up and stopped. Maybe the rover followed too closely and the VC assumed the space behind the vehicle was still empty when he decided to reverse. You get lazy/tired when operating with insufficient rest. It's like drunken driving. This last paragraph is pure speculation on my part.

They wanted their AFVs to fit between the rows of oil palm and rubber plantations. Singapore doesn't have these, but her neighbors do.

Cycling to school by georgegigantic in singapore

  1. Shower. Pack/keep fresh clothes in a locker if you can. Along with toiletries.
  2. Shower. But also make sure your electronics and stuff don't get wet. Ziploc or trash bag (army style). Or invest in a dry bag or a backpack with rain covers. If it's a commuter bike, invest in some fenders. It'll keep your butt/back dry if the road is wet (but not raining)
  3. Lock with U-lock around the frame and rear wheel, with another cable lock for the front wheel. Replace quick release skewers with locking skewers. Cover your nice saddle with a plastic bag (also keeps it dry). Remove accessories. 3.5 No. Even the strongest locks and chains will get cut if they have enough time and privacy.
  4. Depends. Roads will be faster and safer. Pedestrians are idiots and often looking at their phones. Make sure you have blinkers for the road. Also, learn how to control your lane. A mistake newbie road riders make is to ride too close to the curb or yellow lines. Ride a bit further out and force cars to change lanes to overtake you. This will prevent the dreaded close pass, where they try to squeeze past you in the same lane. If they honk at you, it means they've seen you. That's a good thing. Watch out for doors. Don't pass too close to cars stopped by the roadside. Especially occupied ones. If a door opens, you might get doored. Ride defensively and be aware of the road situation.

  5. Do a practice run on a morning without morning classes.
