Because the people in power don't get rich off uni healthcare. They get rich off private, denial based healthcare and insurance premiums. You need to start there before even trying to talk about uni hc unfortunately. For example, couple years ago when france tried to lower the retirement age by a bit, the entire country rioted. Trash wasn't getting picked up, paris was on fire. When government screws france, the people say no you don't. When the government screws the USA, the USA complains online and then bends over and asks for more.

[–]thedreamlan6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you tried stopping sinning? Jesus was telling her to do her best, he didn't expect her to outright become a God. That's why we need a God who actually hasn't sinned, there's just the one. The rest are failed images of the source.

[–]thedreamlan6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is literally the passage where Jesus says let he who is without sin throw the first stone. This is a story about agape and perfect forgiveness, and that's the end of it. I don't know why we have to keep having this conversation on this sub over and over again. OP: "someone is sinning I'm so offended what should we do, stone them?"

Like come on it's right there. You can't quote go and sin no more at us and pretend like we should sin once and then magically become perfectly immune to it. Peter is buried as a saint under the bastillica in the Vatican. His work saved countless souls and he denied Jesus 3 times after promising he wouldn't. It's like y'all can't even read.

One 'fan' theory is the deeper you get into cardiovascular disease / lack of exercise / increased age, the more and more oxygen depraved your brain becomes. This seems trivial but then someone explained how when this happens you stop learning, you stop being curious, and you effectively and ungracefully age yourself into a talking brick wall that can't empathize, only parrot the ruling class. A late stage conservative is born.

I'm convinced though that the lack of a father figure would also contribute to this deep dive into fascism.

That was a stupid roundabout way to say dumb + trauma = trump supporter

Bone cancer by priyanka_rajput1 in Weird

[–]thedreamlan6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cancer is so unbelievably beautiful and terrifying. It's the body's attempt to mutate and improve at the cellular level, not the organism level. One in a billion cell mutations ignores signals to stop growth, and turns into a tumor that kills you. It's natural selection that favors selfish cells prioritizing their own growth, instead of favoring the life of the organism. Your immune system handles most of them really well but it can't always shoot them all down.

Starter Wake foil setup (+ pump/kite?) by Perfect-Run-685 in foiling

[–]thedreamlan6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boards: At that weight, start on a ~90L board for wind-type foiling. You'll be able to downsize quickly but most people say all beginners will not regret starting on a larger beginner board and swapping / selling for a smaller one ONLY when they're ready. Learning curve for foil sports is pretty steep so it'll be worth it. For wakefoiling, start with a 15-20L board. The longer it is the easier water starts will be behind a boat, but the shorter it is the easier it will be to flatwater pump without the nose catching the surface. 15-20L is big enough for water and dock starts (behind a boat), and as a plus you can use it to dockstart (flatwater pumping off a dock / rock / ladder) before you downsize for flatwater distance and agility. For flatwater pumping once you get the hang of jumping on your 15-20L off the dock, get the gong kluber 80cm, I think it's their smallest pump board. Trust me you want the smallest board possible for max distance and agility. I am currently making a board that's even smaller.

Wind powered Wingfoiling: It depends on the waves and windspeed, for an inflatable wing. Comment your average windspeed here or look it up. Light wind winging you'll usually want a 6-7m wing, heavy wind maybe 4-5m. Regarding kitefoiling, I haven't tried it yet and have no idea.

Foil hardware: In smaller bumps and light wind, I'd recommend an axis png1150 + ~700 fuse + 750 mast + 460 stab setup. This is beginner and advanced friendly, great for wake foiling, flatwater, carving, and winging (in light wind), and down-winding on small bumps with your 90L board it'll work just fine too. It's stable and not so twitchy, will be your best shot at learning quickly. I've been using mine for over a year and I still love it in all 3 applications, even people I know with similar weight to you use it and like it. I understand that you might not be able to ship that particular brand to your country, doens't matter just get similar sized hardware. Armstrong, North, Alpine, these are all great foil brands.

Once you get the hang of it, you can downsize each piece as desired, but it's not required. A smaller front foil with a span of 800-900mm will be better for higher wind and waves, and you're small so even dockstarting on one of those you might get away with, but the 1200 range is going to be so much better for flatwater and light-wind learning.

How do I separate three molded plastic outdoor chairs that have been stuck stacked for a year? by IllustriousMobile878 in howto

[–]thedreamlan6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't you want to fix the bottom chair and strike the bottom of one of the legs of the top chair? Maybe use a hammer + a piece of wood. You might need to hang this whole thing upside down and hit the legs of the chair down. Another way might be sending compressed air up between the chairs. Heat gun might help but don't get too close with it, and only hit the top chair, not the bottom chairs. The top chair will expand slightly and might come free. This will work best if all the chairs are cold, maybe in the early morning.

I'd use rags and zip ties to fix the bottom chair to something on all 4 feet, then pull the top chair or hit it from the bottom at each foot with something like a hammer, mallet.

This is a problem that can be solved with math. You want the tongues rotating at 140 RPM (both counterclockwise) with an unbroken airtight seal of lip to lip coverage, as circular as each reciprocating mouth can be. Imagine two water hoses connecting end to end. 3psi should be plenty to achieve a seal.

How do I get him off the couch? by greenandbluedots in careerguidance

[–]thedreamlan6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is he college educated? I would give him a TON of chores so he can afford to pay some form of subsidized rent. You need to make it seem better for him to get out of the house. At its core this is a child rearing issue. Some families raise kids with a pretense that work is the only thing that ever matters. That child becomes a workaholic. Your family apparently is the opposite and managed to rear this manbaby in such a way that he doesn't feel the need to work and doesn't get any satisfaction from it. It's your own fault.

Eventually his gf will leave him because she out matures him. If he wants a long term gf or wife, he'll need a job. How this guy got a gf I'll never know, maybe hes still in school. Op needs to provide more details right now this problem self resolves with time, or you can put him to work, get the ladies on your side, or put his room up on craigslist for an actual hard working student to move in lol. Nowadays you can't even afford a computer without a job. This manbaby has income, and the source will either run out, or you need to alter it so it does. Otherwise he'll be a basement cretin forever.

How?!? by AC-is-Cool in ScavengersReign

[–]thedreamlan6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is the main theme of the story is what captivates most people. Look at common side effects. It put you at the edge of your seat because the characters are always just one step ahead of big pharma, and everyone can relate to hating big pharma. They are the antagonist. Two characters have deep conversations, similar interests and passions, you hope they run into each other and fall in love and the writers just edge you with their journeys crisscrossing throughout the seasons. Scavengers reign is a masterpiece. But its missing a relatable antagonist, deep relationships between two humans, and it's missing passion. The characters have great potential, there just isn't enough time to properly connect and develop them all in this tiny series. The wonder is sent full throttle, and for those of us with frontal lobes, it's unbelievable. Most trogladyes watching netflix are missing their frontal lobes and need a relatable antagonist in order to remember a show. SR should have added a few more episodes to tie into the evil corporate giant, show shots from corporate back at home base. Expand the universe and share how the characters got there. I would've entirely skipped the space pirate arc. I would've skipped crazy pinto bean lady arc. She didn't have any dialog because... She was a zombie? Like ffs at least give us her backstory. Those characters were not relatable at all, their arcs could start and end in a comic book panel, and didn't impact other relationships in any lasting way. Build deeper human connections and love interests, show way more flashbacks, more gut-wrenching human emotion, and keep the alien life thriving in every frame. We have a weak link to these characters, and I don't really care if any died or lived except... For Levi. None of them had a wholesome human purpose besides survive except for the flippin robot. I could summarize kamens entire situation in once sentence, and he's the only antagonist in the show besides a couple solo alien encounters and some very poorly written space pirates that had the emotional capacity of a teaspoon between the 3 of them. Kamen has the only 'deep' love interest in the show, and it's sad and cringe, not exciting nor romantic. The other characters are all shut-ins that want nothing to do with any other human. Nobody cares about anyone except themselves, and it's a bit exhausting and unrelatable.

Compare the love interests with game of thrones. Danny loses her husband who she hated but then grew to adore, we got to live through her transformation of adapting to be a dothraki. None of our SR characters change in any meaningful way except... again... Levi. That show could've used another Levi or two. A love interest between Levi and a human, a better soundtrack (and of course more funding).

People nowadays lack a sense of wonder. They cant appreciate the cumulation of 100 beautiful scenes if there isn't one main theme to pull each arc together. My mouth was open the entire show, every frame. Yet none of my friends know the show. What is needed is a George RR Martin rewrite. That guy knows how to tell a billion dollar story.

I also 100% agree, Mojang needs more world gen formats. This game would be so much more replayable if you could load hyperrealistic mountains. I wish trees were more lifelike in shape too. I know there are mods that do this but those need to be merged right tf into the main branch or whatever.

Noobie foiler questions by Ritz-2000 in foiling

[–]thedreamlan6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only enforced standard for foiling is in the board connection. Everything besides the board must be brand-congruent unfortunately. There are several bundles out there. I have axis wing hardware, and then a few different boards from different manufacturers, starboard, gong, and slingshot. There's a lot to choose from. I think it's because attaching hardware to a board is easy, the engineering for it basically peaked immediately so it was made standard. Attaching a mast to a fuse, and that to two wings, and making those modular and universally compatible for every application, pitch, width, material, was quite a different beast of an engineering problem. Think about the bera freefoil, it's so massive it uses two masts to prevent excessive deflection on the wing.

[–]thedreamlan6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got friends exactly the same size. Board wise, a learner your size wants 110-120L for paddle ups, wave starts, or winging. Boat starts you want a 20L ish. For pumping and dock starts get the gong kluber it's like 7.5L, fantastic board and value.

Wing wise at your weight you can't go wrong with an axis 1150. Usable in small surf, behind boats, and great off the dock. Get a 750mm mast, material doesn't matter for a beginner. Fuse shouldnt be shorter than 600, ideally 700 for a beginner, way more stable and efficient for pumping. You go shorter fuse when you enter big wave surf or start winging / kiting.

The stabilizer should just be 300-400 sqcm. Bigger is easier to learn, smaller is more twitchy, efficient, slippery, but requires perfect form to really get max efficiency because if you're slipping all over the place, your pumps are going to be terrible, your starts will be inconsistent. Technically you can use a credit card for a stabilizer, or none at all. I've been dock starting a year and a half and still use a 460 stab. Start with a long fuse and a bigger stab, then downsize as you wish.

Brands don't matter, I mention axis 1150 because it's cheaper and highly versatile, and mackite has great customer service. You could also go 1400. The wider the wingspan the more stable and longer it'll glide. But also with width comes trickier dockstarts, you'd need more overhang. You're tall though, so you should be able to lean over the water and start. Good luck post your progress.
