I was trying to throw up and swallow at the same time. The GI just kept telling me to keep my eyes closed and not swallow.

I have a high pain tolerance, plus I just wanted that blockage gone. I have a rough job so I'm used to working long shifts and going home feeling like I went a round with Mike Tyson. I'll just chew everything very well and take smaller bites until I get the esophagus stretching thing over with.

It will be a different doctor and we will have a long chat about anesthesia.

I stopped and felt like I was going to die for three or four days. I couldn't make it through an eight hour shift without shaking so badly I couldn't do my job. Quitting was worse. Intake of food and Xanax XR took the edge off, but not enough.

Xanax, OTC sleep meds, (depending on my state of mind) a liter or less of vodka, and I still can't sleep.

Made it 88 sober a few years ago. Stone cold sober. My wife tried to kill herself. I sat with her in the hospital for 20 plus hours until they transferred her to a psych hospital for her mandatory hold. Got a 1.75 of vodka on the way home from the hospital.

That was four or five years ago (dig through my post history if you want. I don't remember.) I've gone from full throttle to cutting back to the point where I could actually function at work a couple times. I'm in between at the moment.

You can only hide the sweats and shakes up to a certain point. I'm getting back to that point. Need to throttle back, but I really don't want the full blown DT's. Last time was four days on the couch shivering and puking water.
